Urgent Call to take serious action and solidarity with Palestinian Prisoners and detainees in Israeli prisons
International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) calls upon International Community to exert all possible pressure on Israel’s Government in order to ensure the dignity and lives of hunger-striking prisoners in Israeli prisons. Palestinian prisoners are calling for an end to the denial of family visits, the right to pursue higher education, appropriate medical care and treatment, and an end to solitary confinement and administrative detention, imprisonment without charge or trial, physical assault, psychological torture, confiscation of their personal belongings, among other humiliating and violent measures.
Israeli authorities have detained approximately one million Palestinians since 1948, still nearly 6500 prisoners in Israeli prisons, among them women , children, Legislative Council deputies, elderly, sick people, handicapped , former Ministers and political leaders who are living under inhuman conditions, arbitrary actions and military laws and rules violation which violates the international humanitarian law and human rights conventions
Prisoners ‘ hunger strike continues for 30th day respectively, now the lives are in real danger and threatened with death at any moment because of the deterioration of their health. So ICSPR urge you to stand in solidarity and urge your Governments to boycott and isolate Israeli occupation along with all other solidarity actions to ensure achieving the prisoner’s fair demands as well as breaking the silence about escalating Israeli violations of international human rights standards and international humanitarian law, and to compel the occupation authorities to respect international law and the provisions of the Geneva Conventions 1947. In addition to halt humiliating and degrading treatment practices of their human dignity, the systematic violations, and the arbitrary actions against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails
