The International Commission “Hashd” Participates in International Human Rights Alliance Conference in Istanbul

Dr. Salah Abd Ati, the President of The International Commission for Supporting Palestinian People’s Rights “Hashd”, participated in the International Human Rights Alliance conference in Istanbul, Turkey. The conference was hosted by an organization, with the participation of 45 lawyers and human rights activists from various countries around the world.

The conference, which lasted for three days, discussed legal actions to ensure the protection of Palestinians from the crime of genocide, holding Israeli occupation leaders accountable, supporting Palestinian rights, and steps to pursue Israeli war criminals through the International Criminal Court and the use of the principle of universal jurisdiction in all countries. It emphasized the need to support the path of justice and urge high contracting parties to the Geneva Convention to act to provide international protection for Palestinians.

The conference activities and meetings with human rights activists and members of the Freedom Flotilla stressed the need for coordinated efforts to activate solidarity with the Palestinian people and to stop the ongoing genocide for the seventh consecutive month. It also supported the just struggle for freedom, justice, and self-determination, urging the United Nations, countries, and various international bodies to fulfill their ethical and legal duties to stop Israeli aggression on Gaza.

During the conference, Abd Ati provided a comprehensive overview of Israeli violations and crimes in Palestinian territories in general, and in Gaza in particular, under the ongoing Israeli aggression. He presented a vision and strategy for a serious approach to pursue and prosecute occupation leaders and soldiers, and partners, emphasizing the need to overcome challenges hindering justice and fairness for Palestinian victims. He stressed the importance of employing universal jurisdiction to prosecute Israeli occupation leaders and perpetrators of genocide and their international partners before national courts in their countries to stop arms exports and support for the Israeli occupation state. The conference emphasized the need for effective action by the International Criminal Court to investigate the crimes committed by Israeli forces during the continuous aggression for over six months in Gaza and other Palestinian territories.

During the International Human Rights Alliance conference, the President of Hashd and the International Human Rights Alliance team held an important meeting with activists from the Freedom Flotilla. Abd Ati expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for their efforts in defending the rights of the Palestinian people as “peace activists”, urging them to continue to impose UN resolutions and International Court of Justice measures to ensure the flow of humanitarian aid and lift the Israeli blockade. He urged taking all possible steps to stop mass killings and genocide as a means of popular protection after the shameful international failure to stop aggression and ensure the flow of humanitarian aid, emphasizing the need to urge countries to fulfill their humanitarian, ethical, and legal duties.

During the visit, a series of meetings were held, including participation in a press conference with prominent human rights activists, parliamentarians, and ministers from different countries around the world, including lawyer Hussein Girly from the International Lawyers Organization “Ulous” and activist Zoe Lefevre Mandela, the granddaughter of the late President Nelson Mandela, and lawyer Lamis Al-Deek. Abdel Aati emphasized in his speech the respect for the efforts of all human rights activists and activists as free in supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people, who have been suffering for more than 70 years.

He said, “I come to you from Gaza, desperate from mass murder and genocide after the continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza for two hundred days.”

Abd Ati presented the latest statistics on human losses among Palestinians due to Israeli aggression, stating that this aggression led to the martyrdom of more than 35,000 martyrs, including 7,615 children, 4,886 women, and 1,858 elderly, with 77,229 Palestinians injured. He also mentioned the martyrdom of 140 journalists, 241 humanitarian workers, 231 academics and teachers, and the martyrdom of 480 doctors and nurses, in addition to the displacement of two million and two hundred thousand Palestinians from their homes in Gaza forcibly, fleeing to tents and places where the minimum human life requirements are not available. This confirms that the Israeli doctrine is based on killing, genocide, destruction, and displacement, as the occupation has been working since the beginning of the aggression to displace two million and two hundred thousand Palestinians from their homes in Gaza forcibly, and to flee to tents and places where the minimum human life requirements are not available.

Abd Ati called on the free people of the world, states, and peoples to act to ensure the protection of Palestinians from genocide, stop the ongoing Israeli aggression for the 200th consecutive day, ensure the opening of humanitarian corridors, facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid, and facilitate the work of international organizations. He also called for supporting the rights of the Palestinian people in self-determination, return, ending the Israeli occupation, dismantling the settlement colonial system, and racism.
