ICSPR issues its monthly report on the work of the Student Parliament in the schools of the Gaza Strip

Occupied Palestine/Gaza: The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights “ICSPR”, presents its monthly report on the work of the Student Parliament in schools affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in addition to government schools affiliated with the Ministry of Education in the Gaza Strip.

During the month of October 2021, ICSPR has implemented 45 training sessions, which included 38 schools, 25 of which were in the Gaza Governorate, 7 in the North Governorate, 5 in the Central Governorate and one in the southern Gaza Strip.

A total of 836 male and female students benefited from the training workshops offered throughout the month of October, in addition to the principals and teachers who attended the sessions and interacted. In their turn, they praised the efforts of ICSPR in choosing the topics for the sessions or training workshop that it held and which received admiration and acceptance among the participants.

The activities and sessions were not limited to face-to-face only, but also included virtual sessions and video meetings through the “Google Meet” platform, which constituted an important turning point in the educational process as a result of the outbreak of the new Coronavirus, and the vacations that occurred from time to time.

As for the topics covered during the sessions, they were many and varied, serving the educational stage of the participants, enhancing their self-confidence and building leadership figures capable of change. The sessions shed light on “the Student Parliament and its tasks, the culture of dialogue and listening, student leadership, student mediation, bullying within the school, its causes and methods of treatment, treatment of shyness and personal development, success industry” in addition to other topics that were addressed.

In turn, the student parliament coordinator, Suhail Abu Al-Araj said that ICSPR has held a meeting on Thursday evening entitled: The Importance of Leadership in Our Lives via (Google Meet), which targeted students of the Parliament of the New Gaza Primary Boys School (A).

The interactive meeting dealt with a number of important topics, most notably the definition of leadership, leadership qualities, who is the leader, the types of leaders, and the necessity of the leader’s interaction with others to accomplish the required tasks in the correct manner without dictatorship or transcendence over anyone, which makes the work lose its value.
