ICSPR Conducts a Recreational Support Activity for Children in Deir al-Balah

The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR) carried out a recreational and psychosocial support activity for 25 children at Ahmed Mashinsh Camp in the Al-Nakheel Street area of Deir al-Balah, as part of its ongoing efforts to provide psychosocial support to children and help alleviate the psychological effects of displacement and the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.

The activity included a variety of recreational games, physical exercises, and interactive activities designed to bring joy and happiness to children, provide them with a safe space to express themselves, and encourage positive interaction with their peers in an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment.

The event witnessed active participation from the children, who showed great enthusiasm and engagement throughout the activities. The program helped strengthen the values of cooperation and teamwork while contributing to relieving some of the psychological stress they continue to experience as a result of displacement and the ongoing war of genocide, thereby enhancing their sense of security and belonging.

ICSPR affirmed that this activity forms part of its ongoing efforts to support children and affected families through humanitarian, recreational, and psychosocial programs that promote children’s resilience and provide safe and supportive environments for their development.

The Commission also stressed the importance of continuing recreational and psychosocial activities in displacement camps and shelters, emphasizing their vital role in protecting children, promoting their psychological and social well-being, and helping them regain a sense of normalcy despite the difficult humanitarian conditions facing the Gaza Strip.
