ICSPR Condemns the Escalation of Israeli Occupation Forces’ Attacks in the Occupied West Bank
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the continued escalation of Israeli occupation forces’ aggression against Palestinians in the West Bank, including repeated raids on cities and refugee camps, extrajudicial executions, the destruction and burning of dozens of homes, and the forcible displacement of thousands of civilians. These attacks have so far resulted in the killing of 33 Palestinian citizens, including three children.
ICSPR’s monitoring indicates that for the past 14 days, the occupation forces have been conducting a large-scale military assault on Jenin city and refugee camp, targeting the camp with intense airstrikes while systematically destroying infrastructure and demolishing nearly 100 homes, leading to the mass displacement of residents. The occupation forces have also escalated their use of live fire and field executions, raising the death toll in Jenin alone to 20 martyrs since the beginning of the invasion. Meanwhile, the occupation launched a military attack on Tulkarm city seven days ago, carrying out widespread raids on homes and commercial establishments, bulldozing streets, and conducting airstrikes targeting houses and vehicles.
Additionally, settler crimes against Palestinians continue to escalate, including physical assaults, property arson, and repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque. ICSPR has documented 5,913 settlers storming the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque since the beginning of this year, performing Talmudic rituals under heavy protection from occupation forces. At the same time, Palestinian worshippers continue to face severe restrictions, with thousands prevented from reaching the mosque due to military checkpoints.
ICSPR asserts that these atrocious violations and crimes, which constitute war crimes and ethnic cleansing, are part of a systematic policy aimed at imposing facts on the ground that serve the colonial annexation agenda and Israeli control over the West Bank. These violations pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and security. Furthermore, ICSPR stresses that the U.S. decision to lift sanctions on Israeli settlers emboldens them to commit further crimes against Palestinians.
Accordingly, ICSPR records and demands the following:
- Calls on the international community, particularly the United Nations and the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions, to take immediate and serious measures to halt these crimes and violations, and to hold Israel, as an occupying power, accountable for respecting the rules of international humanitarian law.
- Demands international protection for Palestinians, the imposition of sanctions and boycotts on the occupying state, and the prosecution of Israeli leaders and soldiers before international courts.
- Reaffirms the necessity of justice for the Palestinian people by working towards ending the Israeli occupation, dismantling the racist settler-colonial system, establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and ensuring the right of return and compensation for Palestinian refugees.
