The International Commission (Hashd): demands that the perpetrators of the heinous act of illegal assault on lawyer Abdul Karim Farrah, a member of the Hebron Municipal Council, be captured.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights “Hashd” strongly condemns the criminal attack on a member of the Hebron Municipal Council, lawyer Abdel Karim Farrah, who was shot directly and then wounded by bullets from unknown shooters, and his car was burned, on Sunday evening, September 24, 2023.
It is worth noting that the city of Hebron has already experienced gunshot events in several locations in recent days, the most serious of which was an attack on the Deputy Mayor’s Dr. Asmaa Al Sharabati’s vehicle and threatening her husband’s life.
These instances occurred after the Hebron Municipality conducted a drive to clear encroachments, organize the city, and execute law and order with the aid of security, particularly the Police Directorate in the Hebron Governorate, during the preceding era.
Although the names of those responsible for the deputy mayor’s assassination and the shooting events throughout the city are known, they have yet to be apprehended and brought to justice.
Hashd expresses its solidarity with the Municipal Council of Hebron, renewing its condemnation of this criminal attack, considering it to be a case of assault on the rule of law and security chaos and warning of the consequences of tolerating such crimes and failing to prosecute them. Because of the negative consequences that lead to turmoil, security disarray, and a lack of personal and public security, the culprits must be identified and brought to justice, as you believe that the current circumstances in the Hebron Governorate, the West Bank, and the entire Palestinian territories impose on all Palestinians the duty to work to prevent chaos and miss opportunities for those who want to spread chaos and chaos. To focus national efforts to strengthen the steadfastness of citizens and confront the crimes of the Israeli occupation, it calls for the following:
- The International Commission “Hashd”: calls on the Public Prosecution and security services to launch a thorough investigation into the crime and other assaults on members of the Hebron Municipal Council, to make the findings of its investigations public, and to work to apprehend the perpetrators, bring them to justice, and hold them accountable for this heinous crime.
- The International Commission “Hashd”: calls on the Palestinian government to monitor the security situation in Hebron in a way that ensures strengthening the rule of law and providing security and protection for citizens, institutions, and municipalities, and to work seriously to put an end to these crimes.
- The International Commission “Hashd”: urges political forces, civil institutions, and national and community personalities to address the phenomena of security disarray in Hebron Governorate and the West Bank in a way that supports the rule of law and sustains civil peace.
