The International Commission “Hashd” publishes a fact sheet on “the reality of Palestinian female prisoners inside occupation prisons.”
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights “Hashd” published a fact sheet titled “The Reality of Palestinian Female Prisoners in Occupation Prisons,” which was written by Reem Mansour.
The paper discusses the concept of the prisoner, international law’s protection of female prisoners, facts and data regarding female inmates, and the violations they are subjected to, with recommendations.
The paper aimed for informing the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention of their duties and putting pressure on the Israeli occupation authority to follow international humanitarian law and prisoner rights standards.
She also urged for the establishment of a fact-finding committee to investigate Israeli crimes against detainees, particularly women.
The paper encouraged the international community, in particular, and international women’s organizations, to take responsibility for Palestinian women, against whom Israeli occupation authorities and settlers commit all manner of violations and torture, and to exert real pressure on the release of all Palestinian female prisoners detained in occupation prisons.
