ICSPR Welcomes the Honorable Position of Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker
The International Commission to Support Palestinians Rights (ICSPR) welcomes the honorable position of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker, Mr Marzouq Al-Ghnaim, when he expelled the Israeli delegation during the closing session of the International Parliament Union (IPU) Conference in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Delegations from 150 countries participated in the conference where Mr Al-Ghanim described the Israeli delegation head as “the occupier and the children killer”, then he ask them to leave the room because of the Israeli violations of the international law and the detention of the Palestinian Parliament members. The Israeli delegation then left the room.
It is worth to mention that Mr Al-Ghanim has been the Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker since 2013. He was re-elected as the new Speaker in 2016. He has been a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly since 2006. He was then Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee, member of the Finance and Economic Committee, member the Committee for the Protection of Public Finance, and member of the Transitional Arab Parliament.
ICSPR praises the moral position of the Speaker and sees it as a very positive step that contributes in the Palestinian hope of reactivating the Arab and international solidarity movement with the rights of the Palestinian people, in order to expose the Israeli occupation crimes. ICSPR urges the Palestinian diplomacy to invest in all international forums to expose the occupation crimes.
