ICSPR condemns murdering the Palestinian citizen “Osama Muhammad Mansour” in cold blood by the occupation authorities, and demands international protection for the Palestinian people under occupation.
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the escalation of crimes against Palestinian civilians committed by Israeli soldiers. The latest of these crimes was this morning, April the 6th, where occupation authorities murdered the citizen “ Osama Muhammad Mansour ” (42 yr) from Bir Nabala town in the occupied West Bank.
According to available data, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced this morning the martyrdom of the aforementioned citizen and the injury of his wife due to a bullet targeted her back. It is worth mentioning that the Israeli occupation forces opened fire at the victim’s car after allowing him to move, in an outright execution crime, and a further violation of the minimum human rights and international humanitarian law charters.
ICSPR condemns again the escalation of field execution crimes, and confirms again and again that these crimes against the Palestinian people would not have been committed, if it were not for the silence of both Arab and international communities, which encourages more cases to be committed against civilians. Thereofre:
1-ICSPR calls on the international community to take immediate action to secure legal protection for Palestinian civilians in the occupied territories, in a way that restores the victims’ trust in the international law system and its efficiency.
2- ICSPR calls on the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligations contained in Article I of the Convention, according to which they undertake to ensure the convention’s respect in all cases.
3- ICSPR calls on the Palestinian Authority to intensify its work with the International Criminal Court, the Human Rights Council, and all international actors, urging them to take serious action and force the occupation authorities to comply with the rules of international law.
4- ICSPR urges the Public Prosecutor of ICC “Fatou Bensouda” to accelerate the investigation of the Israeli crimes committed against Palestinians, in a way that enhances achieving justice for the victims and proves the independence and effectiveness of the International Criminal Court.
