Press release
ICSPR: The joint European recognition of the State of Palestine is a step that does not allow the continuation of the sacrifice of international law and its established principles and stops the farce of the Deal of the Century.
Occupied Palestine/ Gaza : The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) called on the foreign ministers of the European Union to adopt a position rejecting the US peace plan, known in the media as the “Deal of the Century”..
It stated through the letter it sent today, Tuesday, that: The position of the foreign ministers of the European Union is consistent with those of many countries and international federations that have expressed their rejection of the so-called ” Deal of the century “, which must be followed with clear procedures and historical and special steps from the European Union, given the prominent role it plays in the region.
And confirmed that the time has come for a common and historic European decision to recognize the state of Palestine in accordance with the decisions of international legitimacy, as a step in which the European Union defends the rights of peoples and the international human rights law system.
Stressing that it has become necessary for the European Union and its member states to work to provide an acceptable alternative to the American-Israeli plan, and this can’t be done without a joint European recognition of the State of Palestine, which cuts the road in front of the American plan that is nothing more than a recipe for committing an international crime against the Palestinian people, a crime by which the government of the United States of America and the Israeli occupation authorities deny international law and its established principles, in particular the principle of the right of peoples to self-determination, the principle of the right of refugees to return to their homes, the principle of the illegality of settlement, and the principle of the inadmissibility of annexing the occupied territories.
ICSPR continues: The American-Israeli deal turns its back to the international consensus which confirms that “Israel” is a war occupation force. Furthermore,
ICSPR called to publicly confront the US-Israeli plan, to prove that international human rights law and international humanitarian law are able to ensure that the Palestinian people enjoy their rights.
