ICSPR: Condemns US President’s Statements Advocating for the Forced Displacement of Palestinians, Considering Them Support for the Israeli Occupation’s Criminal Policies

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) expresses its strong condemnation and deep disapproval of the US President’s recent statements, calling on neighboring countries to host Palestinians from Gaza. This step reflects direct support for the forced displacement policies pursued by the Israeli occupation.

These statements come 15 months after the Israeli occupation forces committed genocide against the residents of Gaza. This crime did not only result in the deaths of 65,000 martyrs and missing persons, the injury of more than 110,000 others, and the arrest of thousands of prisoners but also included systematic destruction of civilians’ homes, properties, infrastructure, and essential life services in Gaza. The destruction targeted vital sectors such as education, healthcare, electricity, and water, turning Gaza into an uninhabitable disaster zone to serve the Israeli occupation’s demographic agenda of displacing Gaza’s population, with direct support from successive US administrations.

While ICSPR appreciates the Arab and international positions rejecting displacement schemes, it affirms that the forced displacement of Gaza’s residents not only violates the rules of international humanitarian law prohibiting population transfer, international human rights standards, and UN resolutions concerning the Palestinian cause but also poses a threat to Arab, regional, and global security. ICSPR emphasizes that any plans or statements supporting the displacement of the Palestinian people represent a flagrant violation of international law, which will only deepen injustice and destabilize the region. The US President’s statements contribute to the continued US-Israeli partnership in killing, displacing, and annihilating the Palestinian people. These statements coincide with the White House’s recent instructions to the US Department of Defense to lift the ban on supplying Israel with 2,000-pound (approximately 1-ton) bombs, facilitating the delivery of 1,800 “MK-84” bombs. Furthermore, the US President’s decision to lift sanctions on settlers accused of committing criminal and terrorist acts against Palestinians underlines this complicity.

ICSPR makes the following demands:

  • ICSPR: Calls on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to explicitly reject and condemn the US President’s statements, considering them an attempt to legitimize the forced displacement of Palestinians, which constitutes an international crime.
  • ICSPR: Urges the international community to work diligently to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire, facilitate humanitarian aid to survivors of the genocide, rehabilitate essential services, enable the return of forcibly displaced individuals, and prepare for reconstruction based on Palestinian needs. ICSPR also calls for pressuring Israel to assume its civil and criminal responsibilities for the genocide and ethnic cleansing crimes, including compensation for damages and holding its leaders and collaborators accountable before international courts.
  • ICSPR: Calls for restoring unity, reorganizing the Palestinian internal front, strengthening citizens’ resilience, and agreeing on a national plan to confront and thwart plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and addressing other national and humanitarian challenges.
  • ICSPR: Urges Arab states to form a united front against displacement schemes, continue supporting the Palestinian people to enhance their steadfastness on their land, and lead international efforts to protect Palestinian rights.
  • ICSPR: Stresses the international community’s obligation to adopt solutions based on respecting Palestinian rights, including ending the occupation, achieving justice, establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and ensuring the return of refugees and displaced persons to their homes in accordance with relevant international resolutions.
