ICSPR participates in a symposium held by the “Arab Observatory for Human Rights and Citizenship” on the Israeli occupation’ classification of six Palestinian organizations as terrorists.

Occupied Palestine/Gaza: The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights “ICSPR” has participated, Thursday evening, in a “virtual” symposium held by the “Arab Observatory for Human Rights and Citizenship” under the title (Your lists are terrorism), in protest against the Israeli occupation’s labeling of a number of human rights and legal organizations with terrorism.

Dr. Salah Abdul-Atty said in his intervention that “the conflict between the Palestinians and the Israeli occupation has never been between right and wrong, and if it was, the Palestinians would have obtained their rights more than 73 years ago, but rather the conflict is based on scales of powers and part of them are unbalanced in favor of the Israeli and American interest, and in return, the Arabs pay the price as a result of their lack of unity and the absence of a renaissance project.”

He added: “The Palestinians live under a colonial system whose legislative, judicial and executive policies are all aimed at covering up human rights violations, as the occupation and through a policy of gradual nibbling are trying to change the facts on the ground, taking advantage of the Oslo Accords, pointing out that negotiations and the absence of the rules of international law and the commission of violations at the internal level encouraged the occupation to attack civil society, UNRWA, and the National Authority.

Abdul-Atty indicated that the series of violations began in view of the seriousness of civil work, and the Palestinian factions have been criminalized, starting with the Liberation Organization and not ending with Hamas and Islamic Jihad, in addition to many Palestinian personalities, as international organizations have imposed harsh conditions for financing civil society organizations, including signing a document known as the “terrorism” document, which was made especial to criminalize the Palestinian resistance, which was rejected by civil society organizations, to be confronted with a wide campaign of incitement against NGOs, represented in demonizing them, impeding their work, arresting their employees and workers, preventing them from traveling abroad, and other illegal measures.

Abdul-Atty praised the diplomatic and legal efforts made by the unknown soldiers in order to make the Palestinian file the first in the world in terms of complete and comprehensive documentation of the crimes of the occupation in the Palestinian territories, which helped to extract a number of important decisions despite of Israel formation of a ministry called “Strategic Affairs” and allocated an annual budget of $780 million, and its tasks are limited to opposing the efforts of boycott movements and human rights activists, including NGOs.

Abdul-Atty explained that the Israeli occupation sees that the good citizen is the “dead” one, and treats all Palestinians as “terrorists,” whether they are local or international organizations that work to strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority, despite its poor performance and weakness at the international and diplomatic levels.
