ICSPR: The escalation of occupation crimes against the city of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan is a racist behavior that provokes the feelings and rights of Palestinians to worship
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights “ICSPR” follows with great disapproval and concern the recent acts of the Israeli occupation authorities to take down the gates of the minarets of Al-Aqsa Mosque and cut off electrical wires, to prevent calls to prayer, in addition to forbidding the entry of breakfast meals for fasting people in its yards. The escalation of threats to invade the mosque is a clear violation of the minimum provisions of international law and legitimacy and a deliberate provocation to the feelings of the Palestinians and Muslims in general, and an attempt by the occupation authorities to impose a policy on the occupied city and its holy sites. This would ignite tension in the region if the international community remains silent on the practices of the Israeli occupation.
ICSPR condemns the repeated Israeli violations against the occupied city of Jerusalem and its holy places, stressing that such violations would not have accelerated without international silence and American bias, and it warns of attempts to impose occupation sovereignty over the Holy City, in contravention of the principles of international legitimacy, international humanitarian law, and all international resolutions related to the Palestinian issue, especially the Security Council and General Assembly resolutions on the occupied city of Jerusalem. Therefore:
1. ICSPR urges the international community and the free people of the world to condemn these violations against the city of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, including the activation of steps to expose and boycott the occupation state.
2. ICSPR calls on the Palestinian leadership to stop betting on the path of negotiations, withdraw recognition of the occupation state, and adopt a national plan to support the steadfastness of the people and institutions of occupied Jerusalem in the face of plans to impose status quo.
3. ICSPR calls on the Palestinian Authority to intensify its work with the International Criminal Court, the Human Rights Council, and all international actors, and urge them to take serious action to force the occupation authorities to comply with the rules of international law.
4. ICSPR calls on the Arab and Islamic countries, the League of Arab States, and the Organization of the Islamic Conference to initiate international, political, diplomatic and legal moves to pressure the occupation to immediately stop Judaizing the Holy City and its institutions, including calling for urgent and exceptional meetings to form an Arab and Islamic position on the escalation of occupation crimes against the right of occupied Jerusalem and its sanctities.
