Press Release
The International Commission (ICSPR) Calls on the International Community to Intervene Humanely to Save the Remaining Residents of Northern Gaza, Prevent Ethnic Cleansing Crimes Against Them, and Halt the Genocidal Crimes in the Gaza Strip.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the continued silence of the international community regarding the ongoing massacres, brutal destruction, suffocating siege, and continuous genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces for 432 consecutive days. During this period, the Israeli military has perpetrated nearly 1,000 massacres against Palestinian families. The indiscriminate bombings and killings have led to the deaths, martyrdom, and disappearance of over 60,000 individuals, with approximately 110,000 injured and 26,000 detained—about 8,500 of whom remain in unknown locations. Furthermore, 86% of homes, structures, and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed, with 95% of the population forcibly and repeatedly displaced, enduring unimaginable humanitarian and living catastrophes, including the threats of massacres, hunger, diseases, and epidemics.
ICSPR highlights that, 67 days into the military operation in Northern Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces continue their most heinous crimes of siege, genocide, and ethnic cleansing. These atrocities have included over 112 massacres targeting civilians in shelters and residential homes bombed without prior warning. The latest such crime occurred yesterday when the Abu Tarabeesh family’s home in the Beit Lahia project area was destroyed, leading to the martyrdom of 23 family members. Hours earlier, a residential building belonging to the Al-Kahlout family in Izbat Beit Hanoun was destroyed, killing 25 individuals. These crimes are part of repeated massacres and field executions that extend beyond Northern Gaza to target displaced persons’ tents, shelters, and civilian homes across the Strip, claiming dozens of lives daily, including martyrs, injured, and missing persons trapped under rubble.
ICSPR reports that the Israeli occupation forces persist in committing massacres, demolishing residential neighborhoods and civilian homes using wide-scale firepower from airstrikes, artillery shelling, and explosive devices. These actions aim to destroy homes, urban areas, and humanitarian service infrastructure, especially in Northern Gaza. Similar crimes have been witnessed in Rafah city, the northern part of the Nuseirat camp, and the neighborhoods of Tel al-Hawa and Al-Zaytoun in Gaza City. These operations appear to serve the purpose of expanding the Netsarim military corridor, where unprecedented demolitions are systematically carried out. Israeli military bulldozers and private companies further level what remains of civilian structures in these areas to render them uninhabitable, paving the way for colonial settlement expansion in Gaza.
Since the beginning of the siege and military operation in Northern Gaza, ICSPR reports that over 4,500 individuals have been martyred, with an additional 10,000 injured. Hundreds remain missing or are martyrs under the rubble, as civil defense teams and medical personnel face targeted attacks preventing them from carrying out humanitarian duties. Hospitals and medical centers, particularly in Northern Gaza, are under daily attacks, disrupting their operations. For example, hospitals such as Kamal Adwan, Al-Awda, and the Indonesian Hospital have been targeted. These violations coincide with the complete closure of Gaza’s border crossings for more than 200 days, obstructing the entry of medical supplies, humanitarian aid, and fuel, exacerbating famine and collective punishment.
The Israeli occupation forces are systematically forcing the remaining 20,000 residents of Northern Gaza into dire humanitarian conditions, with looming threats of massacres and forced displacement. As part of their genocidal plans, approximately 200,000 individuals have been forcibly displaced in the recent military operations alone, making Northern Gaza uninhabitable and a potential buffer zone. This demographic alteration extends to Rafah and other areas, showcasing a clear disregard for international humanitarian law, human rights standards, UN resolutions, and the rulings of the International Court of Justice.
ICSPR also condemns the ongoing attacks on civil defense personnel and infrastructure, resulting in 89 martyrs, 304 injuries, and the arbitrary arrest of 22 staff members. Additionally, 40 out of 70 fire and ambulance vehicles have been completely destroyed. The Israeli occupation’s restrictions on fuel, spare parts, and essential equipment have severely hampered rescue operations, including retrieving victims from rubble and providing life-saving interventions.
ICSPR emphasizes that the ongoing genocidal crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces for the second consecutive year are a direct result of the international community’s shameful failure to fulfill its obligations to protect civilians and prevent genocide.
ICSPR calls on the international community and international organizations to urgently intervene to protect the remaining civilians in Northern Gaza, prevent the implementation of displacement plans, and halt the ongoing crimes of genocide and siege.
ICSPR urges freedom advocates worldwide to pressure governments and international organizations to fulfill their humanitarian and legal responsibilities to end the genocide, open safe humanitarian corridors, allow the entry of medical supplies, equipment, and fuel, and ensure the arrival of humanitarian teams to alleviate the catastrophic conditions faced by Gaza’s residents.
End.
