The International Commission (Hashd) urges Palestinian security forces in Ramallah to respect people’s rights and freedoms granted both nationally and internationally.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) strongly condemns the Palestinian security services’ continued violation of citizens’ rights and freedoms in the West Bank, which violates national law and the obligations of the State of Palestine under its accession to human rights charters, the most recent of which, according to available data, was the arrest of security services in Ramallah (7) Citizens who are activists of the student movement at Birzeit University. Similarly, the security services recently conducted an arrest and summons campaign against popular resistance activists in Jericho’s Aqabat Jaber camp.
And interrogated them on the grounds of carrying out their national duty and participating in popular activities to confront the repeated incursions of the occupation into the camp.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) reiterates its sadness and condemnation of the continued evasion of the security forces in Ramallah with regard to the law with consider to citizens’ rights and freedoms, and fears that this behavior is a response to the Aqaba path, and identifies with rumors of efforts to resume discussions, and considers that this policy poses a serious threat to civil peace society, fueling more division and internal tensions, and weakens the principle of legality and the rule of law.
As a result, it calls for the criminalization of political incarceration in the Palestinian territories, as well as the quick release of all detainees detained for exercising guaranteed political association and activity. The security services follow the law and the judiciary’s rulings, as well as the response of the national whole to go for reconciliation and respond to initiatives to end the division and agree on holding comprehensive and general elections, as an entry point for arranging the internal Palestinian house and promoting respect for citizens’ rights and freedoms.
