Press Release

The International Commission (Hashd): The continued failure of the legal system, the judiciary, and international action to stamp out and hold Israel accountable for its war on Gaza raises doubt on its legitimacy.

For the third day in a row, Israeli occupying troops carried out a large-scale war strike on the Gaza Strip, purposefully targeting civilians and civilian property, including their insistence on maintaining a policy of targeting civilians and homes. According to the most recent Palestinian Ministry of Health statistics, as of 17:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023, 31 citizens, including 6 children and 3 women, were killed; 106 citizens were injured by various forests; 20 housing units were completely destroyed; and 315 housing units were damaged.

Israeli criminal activity and terrorism have spared no people, animals, or trees, proving Israel’s disdain for legal and humanitarian laws and principles. To date, it has been met with international silence and inadequacies that call into question the entire system of international action, law, and justice, which has always worked better in other wars than in the case of Israel’s occupation.
Israel’s military airstrikes and incursions into Gaza coincided with continuing field killings of Palestinians in West Bank cities and villages by Israeli occupying forces and the entry and breaking into Al-Aqsa mosque by settlers guarded by Israeli police and occupation forces. as well as continued Israeli restrictions preventing access by the world press to the ongoing Gaza Strip situation.

This war onslaught comes while all border crossings remain closed, exacerbating the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, especially with the announcement that fuel stockpiles at Gaza’s sole power plant are set to be depleted. As a result, the risk of a complete plant shutdown remains high, especially if the Karm Abu Salem crossing stays closed and gasoline deliveries are stopped.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd), highlighting the Palestinian people’s right to fight the occupation using all possible means as a recognized right under international law; Insisting that the legal system, the judiciary, and international action will be rigorously tested to demonstrate their adherence to humanitarian values and principles and warning of worsening humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip in light of the Israeli occupying forces’ continued military escalation, The accompanying actions of a suffocating embargo impacting all elements of Palestinian civilian life, as well as denouncing the excessive use of force by launching attacks with various types of offensive winged missiles and vacuum and concussion bombs in such a way as to transform the Gaza Strip into a laboratory for its lethal weapons and contrary to the provisions of the Hague Conventions, the principles of the Geneva Conventions, and international human rights standards, register and demand the following:

  1. The International Commission (Hashd): Deplores the continuing conspiracy of international and regional silence over the heinous crimes committed by the military occupation authorities and calls on the international community to act seriously to prevent the widening aggression, stop Israeli crimes, and lift the collective sanctions against the Gaza Strip.
  2. The International Commission (Hashd): Calls upon the Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to declare a clear and explicit attitude towards Israel’s refusal to abide by and apply the Convention in the Palestinian territories and to act to provide international protection to Palestinians.
  3. The International Commission (Hashd): calls on the Palestinian leadership to break relations with the occupying power and adopt a national strategy based on national unity, adherence to national consensus resolutions, internationalization of conflict, and maximization of popular, political, and legal engagement with the occupying power, including the referral of crimes of Israeli aggression, siege, and field killing to the court, and follow-up to the court prosecutor to urge him to accelerate and open an international investigation of international crimes committed by the occupying forces.
  4. The International Commission (Hashd): Urges the International Solidarity Movement with the Palestinian People and all Arab, regional, and international organizations to act at all legal, political, diplomatic, human rights, and popular levels to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, to demand a boycott and sanctions against the Israeli occupying power, and to prevent the import or export of weapons.

Finished.
