ICSPR condemns broken the office of Gaza’s deputies in Ramallah and confiscation of its content, and detain of MP Yaghi
International Commission to support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) condemns breaking into the office of Gaza deputies of the Fatah bloc in Ramallah and confiscated its content, by preventive security has detained a number of employees.
According to what a number of local media outlets reported that an armed force which followed the preventive security has broken the office of Gaza deputies of Fatah bloc, and confiscated its contents, in addition to confiscation of personal communication devices for workers and MP Alaa’ Yaghi.
International Commission to Support Palestinian Right’s (ICSPR) strongly condemns broken the office in Ramallah and confiscated its content and the detention of the deputies including Alaa’ Yaghi despite he has parliamentary immunity, therefore; ICSPR demand the following:
ICSPR emphasizes that the immunity of the deputies is constitutionally guaranteed according to the law of duties and rights of members of the Legislative Council, which prohibits exposure to them by any form, throughout the duration of the immunity.
ICSPR demand the Attorney-General to make serious investigation about this assault that happened in Ramallah and to prosecute the perpetrators.
ICSPR urge regional and international parliamentary federations and international concerned actors to retract this decision and stop the authority violations of the deputies immunity, legal norms and international human rights
