ICSPR strongly condemns the crime of suicide bombing in Rafah
Palestine/ Gaza Strip: The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights ICSPR condemns in the strongest terms the crime of suicide bombing that occurred almost at 00:25 a.m. on Thursday,17 August 2017, after the police intercepted the terrorist way, in the area of the municipality of Al-Shawka near Rafah crossing, which led to the killing of the bomber and the citizen: Nidal Joma’a Al Jaafari (29 years) a police officer, and field commander in the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades was killed, and 6 others injured, five of them from were elements of police.
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights ICSPR considers this heinous crime seriously dangerous, considering that this crime; as a result of weak national and religious mechanisms to combat intellectual and ideological extremism, ICSPR declares its solidarity with the family of the martyr Al-Jaafari, and the families of the injured, therefore; it demands the following:
ICSPR calls for official bodies and Palestinian society to make serious action in order to find realistic and clear solutions to the cultural, economic, social and intellectual reasons that provides a fertile environment for the growth of extremism and intolerance, especially religious intolerance.
ICSPR considers that the security solution of these issues should be consistent with law and human rights convention and with clear plan to compact extremism.
ICSPR believes that ending the internal divide, achieve the national reconciliation and promote the values of tolerance and partnership, including retreats all of the recent punitive measures against Gaza Strip that resulted in worsening the human conditions in particular the economic, social and cultural rights, is the best solution to compact extremism.
