ICSPR: calls on the Public Prosecution to open an investigation into the circumstances of the disappearance of Dr. Imad Al-Masri
The International commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights(ICSPR) follows with concern what happened to Dr. Imad Mahmoud al-Masri, whose wife announced on Monday night, 15 October 2018, that he was found in a state of exhaustion and fatigue in a deserted area of Ramallah.Al-Masri’s family published a press release in which Dr. Jawad Awad, the Minister of Health, was responsible for the life of their son Dr. Imad Al-Masri, who disappeared since Sunday morning, 14 October 2018, after unknown persons contacted him from the office of the Minister of Health last Thursday, where they threatened him and then later forced him to the Office of the Minister of Health where they in the presence of many directors-general in the ministry, condemning him with the ugliest insults and obscenities, and threatened to harm his life and his dismissal from the ministry or forced transfer to Gaza Strip.Where d. Al-Masri, Director of the Medical Corporation at the Ministry of Health in Ramallah, Al-Masri was arrested a year ago by the Ramallah investigation, and his life was in danger. He was also harassed by the security services on more than one occasion as a result of opposition to the PA’s measures against Gaza Strip. The International Commission to Support Palestinians ‘Rights (ICSPR) reiterates its concern at these racist attacks and threats against Dr. Imad Al-Masri Considering that the attack in this way indicates the involvement of security agencies in the incident, Affirming that respect for the rule of law is a duty of the executive branch, demanding the Public Prosecution in the West Bank to investigate in the circumstances of the and expose Dr. El-Masri to attack, and those behind him.
