The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights deplores the arrest of lawyer Mohamed Imad Tabaza.
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights “ICSPR” has followed with deep concern the arbitrary arrest of lawyer Mohamed Imad Tabaza, without any respect for the legal procedures. According to the information available to us, on 13 May 2019, a police force raided the house of the lawyer Tabaza in the city of Al-Zahra in the center of Gaza City, arrested him and confiscated his laptop at the Nuseirat Investigation Center, and turned to the prosecution which ordered his release. However, police and security services have not yet released him.
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights “ICSPR” expresses its solidarity with lawyer Tabaza and the Bar Association. and confirms that the detention of lawyer Mohamed Tabaza is arbitrary, illegal, in light of the fact that the Bar Association has not been notified before he is summoned, in violation of Law No. 3 of 1999. ICSPR calls the security services and police to immediately release the lawyer Tabaza, and strive to ensure compliance by the security and police agencies with national and international standards.
