ICSPR Conducts an Awareness Workshop on Women’s Rights and Psychosocial Support for Displaced Women in Deir al-Balah
The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR) conducted an awareness workshop targeting 31 displaced women at Al-Nour Camp in the Al-Masha’la area of Deir al-Balah, as part of its ongoing efforts to empower women, enhance their awareness of their rights, and provide psychosocial support amid the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
The workshop addressed a range of topics related to women’s rights, introducing participants to the fundamental rights guaranteed under national laws and international conventions, while emphasizing the importance of protecting women and ensuring their access to their basic rights, particularly in situations of displacement and humanitarian crises.
The session also included a psychosocial support component aimed at providing participants with a safe space to express their feelings and personal experiences, helping to alleviate the psychological stress resulting from war and displacement, while promoting positive coping mechanisms and strengthening resilience in the face of daily challenges.
The workshop witnessed active participation and engagement from the women, who discussed the major challenges facing women in displacement camps and stressed the importance of continuing such initiatives, as they provide valuable knowledge and psychological support that enhance self-confidence and empower women to cope with current circumstances.
ICSPR affirmed that the workshop is part of its ongoing efforts to support women and affected families through awareness, empowerment, and psychosocial support programs, contributing to strengthening women’s resilience and improving their quality of life amid the continuing humanitarian crisis.
The Commission also emphasized the importance of continuing awareness and psychosocial support programs targeting women—especially displaced women—to enhance their awareness of their rights, strengthen their ability to overcome the impacts of war and displacement, and contribute to building a more resilient and recovery-oriented society.
