ICSPR Conducts an Awareness Session for Women at Al-Sayyad Camp to Promote Awareness of Legal Rights

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) conducted an awareness session today for a group of women at Al-Sayyad Camp, as part of its ongoing series of awareness sessions aimed at promoting awareness of Palestinian women’s legal and social rights and fostering a human rights culture within the community.

The session was delivered by Afnan Bakhit, a lawyer volunteering with ICSPR. It addressed a range of legal and social issues relevant to women, with a particular focus on raising awareness of the rights guaranteed by law and strengthening women’s access to legal information and available services. These efforts aim to empower women to understand their rights and advocate for them.

The session included an interactive discussion with participants, providing them with an opportunity to raise questions and inquiries and discuss issues related to women’s rights and the challenges they face under the current circumstances. The discussion also emphasized the importance of ensuring legal and social protection and strengthening support and assistance mechanisms for women.

This session is part of ICSPR’s ongoing efforts to promote legal and human rights awareness and strengthen Palestinian women’s participation in understanding and defending their rights. These efforts are consistent with the principles of human rights, justice, and equality, while contributing to supporting women’s resilience and enhancing their ability to address social and legal challenges.

ICSPR emphasized the importance of continuing to implement awareness sessions and activities that respond to the needs of Palestinian women and provide them with spaces for dialogue and knowledge exchange. Such initiatives aim to strengthen rights-based protection and contribute to building a society that is more aware of human rights and committed to safeguarding human dignity.
