Press Release

The International Commission “Hashd” welcomes the decision of the International Court of Justice to halt military operations in the Gaza Strip and to open border crossings. It urges the United Nations to declare a state of famine in the region.

The International Commission “Hashd” On the 231st day of the ongoing Israeli genocide war on the Gaza Strip, occupation forces continue to prevent the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid to the population due to the continued closure of the Rafah crossing, which used to be the main artery for the entry of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and fuel. This has led to the resurgence of severe famine and its spread among the population. Since the ground assault on the city of Rafah and the occupation of the Rafah crossing, researchers have noted a near-total loss of humanitarian aid and foodstuffs in most areas of the Strip. This has resulted in soaring prices for scarce goods, accompanied by continued waves of forced displacement from Rafah province, with nearly a million displaced, and from northern Gaza, where occupation forces have demanded evacuation due to the ongoing ground assault, systematic destruction of facilities and shelters, deliberate targeting of civilians, and the commission of massacres against them, raising the toll of martyrs and missing persons to nearly 50,000 civilians and over 80,000 wounded, 72% of whom are children and women. Furthermore, more than 80% of civilian homes and various infrastructure facilities in the Strip have been destroyed.

The International Commission “Hashd”: warns of the imminent deaths of thousands of citizens, especially the sick, children, women, and the elderly, due to famine, thirst, the spread of diseases and epidemics, the absence of health and humanitarian services, and the inability of citizens to secure their daily needs. It calls on the United Nations to declare a state of famine in the Gaza Strip and to take action to ensure the flow of humanitarian aid and the opening of humanitarian corridors and all crossings in the Strip to ensure the entry of all humanitarian needs for the population.

The International Commission “Hashd”: condemns the ongoing crime of preventing and obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid due to the closure of land crossings, organized attacks by settlers on aid convoys, and the continued obstruction of the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and other humanitarian organizations. This underscores the Israeli occupation forces’ insistence on destroying and annihilating the population of Gaza, emptying the Strip of its inhabitants, and forcing them into repeated forced displacement as part of a plan to create a new catastrophe and compel them to migrate forcibly outside Palestinian territories.

The International Commission “Hashd”: warns of the serious repercussions of the use of starvation as a weapon against the population of the Strip, amid Israel’s insistence on deepening and exacerbating the catastrophic humanitarian conditions experienced by the population, which are accompanied by continued collective punishment, closure of crossings, power cuts, prevention of fuel entry, shortage of humanitarian aid and medical supplies, and the destruction of all service facilities by Israeli occupation forces to destroy the population of Gaza, whose lives are now at great risk of death due to hunger, thirst, diseases, epidemics, and the psychological and humanitarian pressures that are unbearable and cannot be remedied.

The International Commission “Hashd”: notes that Israeli forces continue to repeat the pattern of war crimes against hospitals and the health sector, resulting in the destruction and closure of most hospitals. Israeli occupation forces besieged and destroyed hospitals in northern Gaza, forcing patients, injured, and displaced persons to leave. They also arrested dozens of citizens, doctors, and workers, along with a number of injured and displaced persons who were subjected to interrogation and torture. Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces continue to destroy hospital buildings and facilities and prevent the entry of fuel and medical supplies.

The International Commission “Hashd”: welcomes the decision of the International Court of Justice to halt the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and protect Palestinians from the crime of genocide, calling for the cessation of ground attacks and military operations in the city of Rafah and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid to the population of the Strip. The International Commission “Hashd” calls on the countries of the world and the international community to enforce the decisions of international courts and the United Nations, which the Israeli occupation state has rejected, and to work to impose sanctions on it and hold it and its leaders accountable as war criminals and perpetrators of genocide.

The International Commission “Hashd”: condemns the ongoing crime of genocide against the people of the Gaza Strip and the continuous international failure to stop it, calling on the Security Council to expedite its role in monitoring the implementation of the decisions of the International Court of Justice and stopping the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, providing international protection for Palestinians, and taking serious action to prevent the expansion of the ground offensive in the city of Rafah and other cities in the Strip, which threatens the danger of displacing Palestinians outside the occupied Palestinian territories, ensuring the opening of additional humanitarian corridors, and developing mechanisms for the entry of humanitarian and relief aid to ensure its sufficient flow, thus contributing to halting the famine and humanitarian disaster caused by the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for 231 consecutive days.

The International Commission “Hashd”: calls on the State of Palestine and the countries of the world to refer the ongoing genocide crimes and aggression to the International Criminal Court, and calls on the Public Prosecutor’s Office to issue arrest warrants for all perpetrators of genocide and war crimes, and to stop the policy of procrastination and selective enforcement of international law and equal treatment of victims with perpetrators. It also calls on the State of Palestine and the countries of the world to join the lawsuit filed by South Africa to the International Court of Justice and to support the prosecution of Israeli political and military officials and their accomplices before the International Criminal Court using the principle of jurisdiction before national courts.

The International Commission “Hashd”: calls on the United Nations, the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions and the Convention on the Prevention of Genocide, the free people of the world, international and regional organizations, to escalate their individual and collective efforts, political, diplomatic, and popular movements to stop Israeli aggression, genocide, and end the catastrophic suffering of civilians before it is too late, ensuring the implementation of the decisions of the International Court of Justice to stop the aggression and protect Palestinians from the crime of genocide, and supporting the work of the International Relief Agency and other international organizations in providing relief to the Palestinian people and supporting the Palestinian people’s struggle until the end of the Israeli occupation and the dismantling of the colonial and apartheid system.
