Unifying International Efforts to Confront Israeli Aggression and Protect the Rights of the Palestinian People

The 55th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, which will be held between February 26 and April 5, 2024, comes amid ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories, as well as a genocide war. This necessitates unified efforts and coordination among all human rights organizations to ensure the issuance of resolutions condemning and criminalizing the genocide war and Israeli aggression, and to confirm the demand for an immediate cessation of the aggression. This also includes sending an international fact-finding mission to Gaza and the West Bank, activating international protection pathways for Palestinians, and establishing mechanisms to hold the Israeli state and its leaders accountable for their crimes against the Palestinian people.

The International Commission “Hashd” and the International Human Rights Alliance for Palestine emphasize their call to the Human Rights Council and diplomatic missions to use all means to defend the rights of the Palestinian people, activate the Council’s role in protecting Palestinians, and call for sanctions and boycotts against the Israeli occupation, leading to the demand for the revocation of its membership in the United Nations.

The International Commission and the International Human Rights Alliance will continue their participation in the Human Rights Council session to raise awareness and present evidence and human rights reports to Council members and United Nations committees, to ensure that the Council fulfills its role as an effective international body in defending human rights and the rights of the Palestinian people, facing double standards, jungle law, genocide crimes in Gaza, collective punishments, war crimes, settlement crimes, and torture of prisoners, and condemning the ongoing American support for the Israeli occupation state.

The International Commission and the International Human Rights Alliance will organize a series of activities and seminars on the sidelines of the Human Rights Council session to address international crimes committed by the Israeli occupation, in addition to delivering a human rights report entitled “The Genocide of Gaza” to Council members and other United Nations bodies and committees concerned.
