The International Commission “Hashd” While the world celebrates the arrival of a new year, Palestinians are deprived of their human rights
As the year 2023 concludes, the ongoing tragedy and suffering of the Palestinian people persist due to the historical injustice inflicted upon them by the Israeli occupation. Israel continues to deny the rights of the Palestinian people, violating principles of international humanitarian law, human rights standards, and relevant United Nations resolutions regarding the Palestinian cause. Throughout 2023, with the rise of the extreme fascist government in Yemen, settler terrorism and Israeli forces’ crimes against Palestinians escalated. The culmination was the continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7, 2023, where genocidal acts, ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, war crimes, collective punishment, starvation, and dehydration have resulted in the death, martyrdom, or disappearance of 30,000 citizens, with 70% being children and women. Additionally, 106 journalists, 312 medical personnel and rescuers, and 146 United Nations staff have lost their lives. Approximately 57,000 have sustained various injuries, and 2 million citizens have been forcibly displaced, living in a humanitarian catastrophe due to power, communication, water, and food shortages, causing hunger, diseases, and epidemics. Moreover, 70% of residential units, buildings, and civil and service facilities in Gaza have been destroyed, transforming it into an uninhabitable area. In the West Bank and Jerusalem, Israeli forces and settler militias persist in committing crimes, including field executions, with a toll of 600 Palestinian lives in the year, accelerating home demolitions, colonial settlements, settler assaults, racial discrimination, and desecration of holy places.
The International Commission “Hashd”: holds the United States accountable for the ongoing genocide, ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, collective punishment, and continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza by providing various weapons, financial, military, and political support to the Israeli occupation. The repeated use of the veto right in the Security Council obstructs the international community and the UN from fulfilling their responsibilities to stop the aggression and protect civilians and civilian infrastructure. The organization condemns the humanitarian disaster in Gaza due to the persistent Israeli aggression.
The International Commission “Hashd”: strongly condemns the international community’s failure to halt the ongoing genocide in Gaza. It expresses dismay at the silence of world nations and international organizations regarding the participation of foreign terrorist mercenaries from the United States, European countries, and others in committing genocidal crimes, ethnic cleansing, brutal massacres, forced displacement, and retaliatory collective punishment inflicted by the continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza.
The International Commission “Hashd”: urges the international community, the United Nations, and the high-contracting parties to the Geneva Conventions to act to protect civilians, stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, and take necessary measures to halt the organized state terrorism and the involvement of foreign mercenaries in the genocidal war in Gaza. The organization calls for the pursuit and accountability of all perpetrators of international crimes and grave violations before national and international courts.
