Press release

The International Commission (Hashd) rejects the extreme Minister Ben Gavir’s racial discrimination against prisoners in Israeli prisons.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) condemns and denounces the extremist Minister Ben Gavir’s retaliatory measures and decisions against Palestinian prisoners, the most recent of which was the decision to reduce the number of visits to prisoners to one visit every two months, rather than one visit every month, and instead of the usual two visits per month Previously, this measure will go into effect on Sunday.

The decision was preceded by a series of decisions intended at preventing inmates who satisfied the standards for early release from being released early, as well as other decisions targeted at inflicting collective punishment on prisoners.

The International Commission (Hashd): confirms that racist decisions against prisoners and detainees in occupation prisons are a flagrant violation of the Geneva Conventions and other international legislation, as well as Israeli Prison Service regulations and agreements with the International Red Cross regarding the visiting prisoner’s program.

The International Commission (Hashd): confirms that the fascist Israeli occupation government insists on using the issue of prisoners to win Israeli public opinion and get out of its current crisis, by imposing more vindictive racist laws and decisions, since the fascist government has sought to harm the prisoners and impose a reality since it took power. A new law based on collective punishment in prisons affects all prisoners’ rights.

More than 5,000 Palestinian inmates are held in Israeli jails, including 32 women, 160 children, and over 1,000 administrative detainees (those held without trial). There are 700 sick prisoners, 554 life sentences, 400 veteran prisoners, and 15 journalists among the captives, as a result, The International Commission (Hashd) registers and demands:

  1. The International Commission (Hashd): Demands that the Red Cross break its silence and inform the international community and global public opinion about all targeting, incitement, and attacks on prisoners that amount to war crimes, including the continuation of torture, medical negligence, withholding the bodies of captured martyrs, and enacting racist laws that violate international humanitarian law.
  2. The International Commission (Hashd): urges the international community to work honestly and sincerely to stop discriminatory sanctions and measures against Palestinian prisoners and detainees, resulting in the end of their suffering and release.
  3. The International Commission (Commission): Calls on states parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to carry out their legal obligations by pressuring the occupying state to uphold its legal obligations under international law and international humanitarian law, and to end its inhumane treatment of Palestinian detainees and policies degrading detainee dignity.
  4. The International Commission (Hashd): The Palestinian leadership and diplomacy demand that the issue of prisoners be internationalized as soon as possible and that all tools of international law be activated and used to boycott and hold the occupying state accountable for its actions against Palestinian detainees and prisoners, as this is the most effective way to deter the perpetrators of these crimes.
