The International Commission (Hashd) confirms that the Israeli occupation government’s decision to allow settlers to proceed with the march of flags in the Arab neighborhoods of the occupied city of Jerusalem on Thursday, 5/18/2023, and to allow them to enter the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque is a blatant and aggressive attack on the feelings of Muslims, especially Palestinians around the world, and it is a rash decision that is inseparable from the open aggression of the occupation, and an extension of the continuous Israeli policies of escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories that threaten to drag the conflict arena towards more explosions that are difficult to control, especially after less than a week since the end of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, Which led to the death of 33 innocent Palestinians citizens including(6 children), and( 190 wounded), including(64 wounded children,).
The Israeli occupation government’s decision violates international humanitarian law and the sanctity of the holy places, and it fits into the framework of the processes of Judaizing Jerusalem, continuing its acquisition, and attempting to eliminate any sign of Palestinian presence in it. To decrease and calm the situation, the Israeli insistence on adhering to the occupation, settlements, and Judaization processes and persisting in defiance of resolutions of the United Nations related to the city of Jerusalem and international law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits the annexation of occupied lands and imposes special protection for holy places and places of worship, is a clear violation. The international will that approved a special status for the city of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque also proves that the Israeli occupation chose to escalate against the Palestinian people.
