Press release,

ICSPR: The continued failure of the system of law, judiciary and international action to restrain and hold the Israeli occupation accountable, plants doubts of suspicion of politicization

Amidst the continued closure of all border crossings and the exacerbation of the humanitarian crises in the Gaza Strip for the third consecutive day.

The Israeli occupation forces continue to carry out a large-scale military attack on the Gaza Strip, with the aim of harming civilians and their civilian properties, including the insistence to implement the policy of demolishing homes over the heads of its residents and targeting the infrastructure that the population in most needs for, and that resulted according to the latest statistics of the Palestinian Ministry of Health -until the time of writing this release- in the martyrdom of 87 citizens, including 18 children and 8 women, and injured 530 with various injuries.

Israeli criminality and terrorism have spared neither humans, trees nor stones. Israel gives no regard to the international principles and rules governing the state of armed conflict, it clearly aims to kill Palestinian civilians and destroy their civilian and public properties.

The occupation forces are practicing unprecedented war aggression that affects civilians and their civilian properties in front of the silent and helpless international community, which puts the whole system of international law, action and justice in the circle of suspicion, the same system that has been employed in other conflicts more perfectly than it is in the case of the Israeli occupation.

The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights “ICSPR” affirms the right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupier by all available means, as a right recognized in international law, and stresses that the system of international law, judiciary and action is facing a real test that will reveal the extent of its compliance with humanitarian values and principles.

At the same time, ICSPR salutes all peoples standing in solidarity with the Palestinian right to defend itself, and appreciates all positions against Israeli crime and terrorism, and warns of worsening the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip in light of the continued military escalation, and the threat to expand these operations and the accompanying stifling siege measures affecting all aspects of the life of Palestinian civilians. Therefore:

1. ICSPR deplores the continuation of the international and regional conspiracy of silence over the heinous crimes committed by the occupation authorities.

2. ICSPR calls on the states contracting to the Fourth Geneva Convention to declare a clear and explicit position on Israel’s refusal to abide by and implement the agreement in the Palestinian territories.

3. ICSPR demands the Palestinian leadership and diplomacy to exert more efforts with the International Criminal Court, to urge it to take a step forward towards opening an international investigation into international crimes committed by the occupation forces.

4. ICSPR urges the international movement of solidarity with the Palestinian people, as well as all Arab, regional and international organizations, to move on all legal, political, diplomatic, human rights and public levels, to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
