The Fourth in Less Than a Week – ICSPR Strongly Condemns the Killing of Prisoner Ali Ashour Al-Batsh
The International Commission “ICSPR” strongly condemns the killing of prisoner Ali Ashour Al-Batsh, 62 years old, from the town of Jabalia, who was martyred on February 21, 2025, and whose death was announced yesterday evening by the Israeli Prison Service.
ICSPR holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the crimes of killing, torture, starvation, medical neglect, abuse, physical assaults, and deprivation of rights and guarantees enshrined under international humanitarian law, particularly the provisions of the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions. These crimes have led to the martyrdom of 62 prisoners inside Israeli prisons since October 7, 2023, including 46 from the Gaza Strip, while Israeli occupation forces continue to withhold their bodies.
ICSPR calls on the international community, third-party states, and international organizations to break their silence and inaction in the face of Israel’s crimes against prisoners and detainees in Israeli prisons. It also demands that accountability be ensured for Israeli perpetrators before international courts, sanctions be imposed on the Israeli occupation state, and the policy of impunity be ended. Furthermore, it stresses the need to uphold justice for the victims of genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity, ensuring an end to the ongoing international crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians.
