The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR) conducted an awareness workshop targeting 31 displaced women residing in Al-Noor Camp in the Al-Masha’la area of Deir al-Balah, as part of its ongoing efforts to empower women, enhance their awareness of their rights, and provide psychosocial support amid the severe humanitarian conditions facing the Gaza Strip.

The workshop addressed a range of topics related to women’s rights, introducing participants to the key rights guaranteed under international laws and conventions. It emphasized the importance of protecting women and ensuring their access to fundamental rights, particularly in situations of displacement and humanitarian crises, with the aim of strengthening their legal awareness and empowering them to advocate for their rights.

The event also included a psychosocial support session designed to provide participants with a safe space to express their feelings and share their experiences, while helping to alleviate the psychological distress resulting from war and displacement. The session further focused on promoting positive coping mechanisms and strengthening participants’ resilience in confronting daily challenges.

The workshop witnessed active engagement from the participating women, who discussed the major challenges faced by women living in displacement camps. They highlighted the importance of continuing such initiatives, noting that they provide valuable psychological and educational support that enhances self-confidence, empowers women, and strengthens their role in supporting their families and communities.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR) affirmed that the workshop forms part of its broader efforts to implement awareness, empowerment, and psychosocial support programs for women and families affected by the ongoing crisis, contributing to strengthening their resilience and improving their quality of life amid the continuing humanitarian emergency.

ICSPR also stressed the importance of sustaining awareness and psychosocial support programs targeting women particularly displaced women to enhance their understanding of their rights, strengthen their ability to overcome the impacts of war and displacement, and contribute to building a society that is more resilient and better equipped for recovery.
