ICSPR Continues Child Protection Activities in the Gaza Strip

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights – ICSPR, in partnership with the Italian campaign “100×100 Gaza,” carried out an interactive and awareness-raising activity targeting children in one of the camps in the Al-Masha’la area on the coast of Deir al-Balah, with the participation of 30 boys and girls. This activity comes as part of joint efforts to support children’s resilience and enhance their psychological well-being amid the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.

The activity included a range of recreational and interactive sessions aimed at creating a safe space for children to express themselves, in addition to a simplified discussion session addressing children’s rights and the importance of living with dignity and safety, thereby strengthening their awareness of their fundamental rights.

The event witnessed positive engagement from the children, who spontaneously expressed their aspirations and dreams, emphasizing their desire to live in peace within a safe and stable environment, free from fear and pressure. Their participation reflected a growing awareness of their basic rights.

Children actively engaged in the activities provided, which contributed to boosting their self-confidence and alleviating some of the psychological stress they face, within a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promoted interaction and participation.

ICSPR affirmed that this activity comes within the framework of its partnership with the Italian campaign “100×100 Gaza,” which aims to support children’s rights in the Gaza Strip through humanitarian response programs, including awareness, recreational, and psychosocial support activities, to mitigate the impact of the current conditions and violations affecting children.

ICSPR stressed the importance of continuing and expanding such efforts, which combine protection, rehabilitation, and psychosocial support, alongside raising awareness of children’s rights. It also emphasized the need to provide a nurturing environment that ensures children a dignified and safe life amid the exceptional circumstances facing the Gaza Strip.
