ICSPR: Aid Corridors Have Turned Into Death Traps… Israel’s Crimes in Gaza Surpass All International Norms and Laws
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) expresses its deep concern and strong condemnation of the ongoing genocide and unprecedentedly brutal Israeli aggression against over two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. This aggression, which has defied all international norms and laws, has resulted in mass killings, systematic starvation, widespread destruction of cities and camps, and the total collapse of infrastructure—amidst blatant international silence, incapacity, and complicity.
Since October 7, 2023, until this morning, August 4, 2025, Israel’s genocide has led to the martyrdom of 60,839 citizens, including 19,000 children and 13,000 women, in addition to over 14,000 missing persons trapped under rubble. The number of wounded has reached 149,588, the majority of whom are women and children, including thousands with amputations and severe injuries.
ICSPR reported that in the last 24 hours alone, 119 Palestinians were martyred and 866 injured as a result of Israel’s deliberate targeting of civilians by airstrikes and ground troops. Many of the victims were waiting for humanitarian aid near the criminally operated American-Israeli aid distribution centers and humanitarian aid corridors. This raises the number of civilians killed while seeking aid to 1,487, with 10,578 others injured, as Israeli forces and an American security company continue systematic killings without the victims posing any threat—highlighting the deliberate nature of the violence, starvation, and chaos. These are elements of a broader scheme of engineered genocide and militarization of aid aimed at rendering Gaza uninhabitable and forcibly depopulating it.
ICSPR affirms that Israeli claims of facilitating aid into Gaza are far from reality. Only 674 trucks were allowed entry over eight days since July 27, 2025, out of 4,800 that were supposed to enter to meet the minimum humanitarian needs. This represents a daily average of 84 trucks—just 14% of the actual requirement. Most of these trucks were looted amid orchestrated chaos that aligns with the policy of “engineering disorder and starvation,” designed to dismantle Palestinian society and strip it of all means of survival. It is estimated that Gaza requires 600 aid and fuel trucks per day to prevent the collapse of health, service, and food sectors.
ICSPR condemns Israel’s continued prevention of UNRWA and humanitarian organizations from operating freely and its consistent refusal to allow aid entry through them, as part of a larger plan to eliminate their role and dismantle the Palestinian refugee issue.
According to the Ministry of Health, 180 individuals, including 93 children, have died from starvation. Around half a million people are at risk of death due to lack of food and clean drinking water. International reports indicate that 96% of Gaza’s population suffers from acute food insecurity and severe water shortages—resulting from the deliberate destruction of the agricultural sector, water sources, and the blockade on humanitarian aid. This poses an imminent threat to the lives of patients, the injured, children, the elderly, and all residents of Gaza, who are facing death from thirst, famine, and the spread of disease and epidemics.
ICSPR strongly condemns denialist statements, particularly from U.S. Envoy Witekov, that deny the existence of famine in Gaza. Such statements disregard well-documented facts and reports from international and human rights organizations and serve as a means to absolve Israel of its genocide and starvation crimes.
ICSPR warns that the healthcare system is on the verge of total collapse due to Israel’s deliberate targeting of hospitals, the ban on medical aid and fuel, and the targeting of medical staff. Recently, the Palestinian Red Crescent headquarters in Al-Amal City, Khan Younis was bombed, resulting in the martyrdom of one staff member, injuries to others, and parts of the building being burned—clear violations of the Geneva Conventions.
ICSPR condemns the U.S. administration’s sanctions on Palestinian officials in response to their diplomatic efforts on the international stage. This represents a political escalation in line with America’s ongoing complicity in shielding Israel and obstructing its accountability.
ICSPR denounces Israel’s persistent grave violations against over 10,800 Palestinian prisoners, who face torture, isolation, medical neglect, starvation, and denial of basic rights. Over the past two years, 75 detainees have died due to torture and medical neglect. Prisoners from Gaza face enforced disappearance, torture, starvation, rape, solitary confinement, and total deprivation of rights guaranteed under the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions.
ICSPR condemns the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque on the morning of Sunday, August 4, 2025, by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, accompanied by 3,000 settlers under the protection of Israeli forces. This is a dangerous provocation and escalation in the context of efforts to Judaize Al-Aqsa and impose Israeli sovereignty as part of declared plans to demolish the mosque and build the so-called “Temple.”
ICSPR holds the Israeli occupation and the U.S. administration directly responsible for the continued genocide and starvation in Gaza, the escalating assaults on prisoners, and other criminal Israeli violations in the West Bank and Jerusalem. ICSPR warns that the continuation of international silence and failure to uphold international humanitarian law, human rights law, the decisions of the International Court of Justice, and relevant UN resolutions related to the Palestinian cause, will only deepen the catastrophe.
While ICSPR values all popular and diplomatic efforts supporting the Palestinian people’s struggle and rights, it calls for the following:
-
The United Nations to officially declare Gaza a famine zone, and urgently take measures to ensure immediate international intervention and establish permanent, safe humanitarian corridors to facilitate unrestricted flow of food, water, medicine, and fuel.
-
The High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions to fulfill their obligations and take effective measures to stop Israeli crimes and ensure international protection for civilians and civilian infrastructure.
-
The International Criminal Court (ICC) to expedite its proceedings regarding crimes committed in Palestine and issue new arrest warrants against Israeli leaders and their accomplices.
-
The UN General Assembly to convene under the “Uniting for Peace” resolution and assume the responsibilities of the Security Council to:
-
Form an international coalition to protect Palestinian civilians,
-
Send an international protection mission,
-
Open humanitarian corridors, and
-
Impose comprehensive sanctions on Israel, including suspending its UN membership until the end of the occupation and the dismantling of the colonial apartheid regime.
-
End.
