Press Release

The International Commission “Hashd” For the 85th consecutive day, a genocide is being committed against the residents of the Gaza Strip, with the Israeli occupation targeting 5% of its population, approximately 87,000 citizens, resulting in fatalities, injuries, and disappearances. Notably, 70% of the victims are children and women. Simultaneously, the blockade persists, displacing two million people, forcing them to live in dire conditions in shelters and tents, facing diseases, epidemics, cold, hunger, and thirst. The international community’s failure to restrain the occupier and halt the Israeli aggression continues, fueled by unprecedented support from the United States and some European countries with colonial backgrounds.

The International Commission “Hashd”: Issuance of forced evacuation orders for extensive parts of the central province and the city of Khan Younis, currently under continuous ground invasion. The displaced are forcibly relocated to the Rafah province, where one and a half million citizens are crowded, while the destruction and targeting of citizens’ homes, mosques, and shelters in Gaza persist. This signals Israel’s plan to annihilate and displace the Palestinian population in Gaza, creating a new catastrophe.

The International Commission “Hashd”: Complete destruction of human life infrastructure, hospitals, health clinics, and service facilities, as well as civilian homes in northern Gaza. The expansion of ground incursions involves war crimes, including field executions, arbitrary arrests, and torture, particularly of detainees. Civilians are used as human shields, and homes, money, and belongings of citizens are stolen. This reflects Israel’s departure from international humanitarian law and the principles of war, including the Geneva and Hague Conventions and the Rome Statute establishing the International Criminal Court, and all human rights standards.

The International Commission “Hashd”: Continuing power cuts, water and communication restrictions, fuel, and cooking gas entry denial, limited medical supplies, and humanitarian aid obstruction permitted by the Israeli occupation. The restrictions indicate the use of aid as a weapon against civilians, demonstrating Israel’s intent to starve and dehydrate civilians, destroy Gaza, and turn it into an uninhabitable area as a form of revenge and collective punishment.

The International Commission “Hashd”: appreciation for the legal action taken by South Africa against the Israeli occupation in the International Court of Justice for its grave violations of the Genocide Convention and the request for provisional measures to protect Palestinians. The international community, particularly the International Criminal Court, is urged to uphold its ethical and legal duties, end double standards, and take serious action to hold accountable those responsible for genocide, ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, and collective punishment against Palestinians.

The International Commission “Hashd”: Strong condemnation of the continued Israeli incursions into Palestinian cities and camps in the West Bank, committing field killings, arresting thousands of citizens, torturing prisoners, desecrating holy places, escalating settler crimes, expanding colonial settlements, and enforcing racial discrimination and collective punishments against Palestinians.

The International Commission “Hashd”: Wishing for 2024 to be a year that respects the rights of the Palestinian people, the organization extends its gratitude to the peoples and countries worldwide that have supported and stood in solidarity with the rights of the Palestinian people. It renews its call to the free world, the United Nations, the parties to the Geneva Conventions, the Genocide Convention, and international and regional organizations to act to stop the aggression and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation. Furthermore, it urges the provision of international protection for civilians, especially children, women, journalists, and medical personnel, the opening of humanitarian corridors for the speedy evacuation of the wounded, and the unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, cooking gas, and fuel. The organization calls for countermeasures, including sanctions and boycotts against the Israeli occupation and the prosecution of its leaders as war criminals before international courts, and support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
