Following the declaration of the martyrdom of a citizen with disabilities

ICSPR: The occupation forces do not respect the international protection granted to persons with disabilities

The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the Israeli occupation forces’ killing of Palestinian civilians and specifically targeting persons with disabilities, Which resulted the martyrdom of 06 of them Since the beginning of the return marches. The number of victims rose to 06 after the Palestinian medical sources announced on Tuesday, 05 November 2018, the death of 40-year-old Gha’em Ibrahim Shurrab.

ICSPR affirms that the method of the Israeli occupation forces in dealing with Palestinian demonstrators, especially persons with disabilities,, falls within the framework of implementing a systematic plan and a political decision of the highest level in the Israeli occupation state. And indicates that the results of the monitoring and documentation carried out since the start of the march and so far, shows that there is no risk to the lives of the occupation soldiers, Therefore, ICSPR demands the following: ·

ICSPR calls on the international community to act urgently and effectively to ensure the protection of peaceful marches and to stop the excessive and lethal force by the Israeli occupation forces against demonstrators.·

ICSPR renews its warning to the Israeli occupation and its military forces against the policy of continuing to target civilians and demonstrators, and to take legal responsibility for this.·

ICSPR warns from the continued inability of the international community to act to stop the Israeli crimes committed against demonstrators, especially in Gaza Strip, and this deficit considers to be a green light for the occupation forces to continue to expel the blood of unarmed demonstrators, and hundreds of casualties.·

ICSPR calls upon the international bodies, especially the World Health Organization, to intervene immediately in order to provide the necessary medical supplies for the forest and the injured, especially in light of their high numbers.·

ICSPR calls on the Palestinian leadership and diplomacy to activate its role by referring files of physical violations, particularly those directed to persons with disabilities, under Article 14 of the Rome Statute and condemn the grave violations against peaceful demonstrators.
