ICSPR Conducts a Recreational and Psychosocial Support Activity for Children in Deir al-Balah
The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR), in partnership with the Italian campaign “100×100 Gaza,” carried out a recreational and psychosocial support activity for 40 children at Al-Nour Camp in the Al-Masha’la area of Deir al-Balah, as part of its ongoing programs aimed at supporting children in displacement camps and mitigating the psychological and social impacts of the war.
The activity included a variety of recreational events, group games, and interactive activities designed to provide children with a safe space where they could freely express their feelings in an atmosphere of joy and cooperation, while fostering their sense of safety, belonging, and social connectedness.
The program also featured psychosocial support sessions focused on strengthening children’s self-confidence, developing their communication and positive interaction skills, and helping them cope with the psychological stress resulting from war and displacement, thereby enhancing their resilience and ability to adapt to challenging circumstances.
The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation from the children, who actively engaged in the various events and activities. Their interaction contributed to creating moments of joy, strengthening the spirit of cooperation and teamwork, and fostering a sense of hope despite the difficult humanitarian conditions.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR) affirmed that this activity forms part of its partnership with the Italian campaign “100×100 Gaza,” which seeks to implement humanitarian, recreational, and psychosocial support programs for children and affected families, contributing to strengthening their resilience and improving their overall well-being.
The Commission also emphasized the importance of continuing recreational and psychosocial support activities for children in displacement camps, highlighting their vital role in protecting children, promoting their mental and social well-being, providing safe and supportive environments, and safeguarding their right to healthy development, play, and a life of dignity despite the exceptional circumstances facing the Gaza Strip.
