The International Commission “Hashd” The Ongoing Atrocities in Northern Gaza Amount to Genocide, and the Free World Must Act to Stop Them
The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR) states that the Israeli occupation forces continue their genocidal and ethnic cleansing actions in Northern Gaza for the 18th consecutive day. These actions involve ongoing siege, starvation, prevention of humanitarian aid, and massacres targeting civilians. Since October 6, 2024, over 700 people have been killed, more than 1,500 have been injured, and hundreds remain missing, with most victims being children and women. Additionally, thousands of residential units and inhabited homes have been destroyed, residential neighborhoods have been wiped out, and shelters and hospitals have been targeted. The destruction of remaining life-sustaining infrastructure and services continues due to Israel’s prolonged aggression, which has persisted for over a year. The objective is to implement plans for the displacement and depopulation of Northern Gaza, converting it into a militarized zone devoid of residents and annexing it to the State of Israel.
International Commission (Hashd): On the 18th day of military operations in Northern Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces have expanded and escalated their war crimes to include the Beit Lahia Project area, which has become a refuge for over 150,000 forcibly displaced people who fled the atrocities committed by the occupation forces in Jabalia Camp and other areas in the northern sector. Since early morning, the occupation forces have been carrying out random artillery shelling of residential neighborhoods, leading to massacres against the displaced people, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries. Additionally, drones continue to target shelters and the courtyard of Kamal Adwan Hospital, which is overwhelmed with the injured and deceased. The aim is to force medical teams, patients, and the wounded to evacuate the only hospital functioning under catastrophic conditions, amid shortages of medical supplies and even shrouds for the dead, following the targeting, blockade, and disabling of the Indonesian and Al-Awda hospitals. This threatens to turn the hospital into a mass grave due to the accumulation of bodies and the continued increase in casualties, as the occupation forces persist in targeting the hospital and obstructing the work of ambulance and civil defense teams. Large numbers of missing, injured, and deceased remain under the rubble of homes and on the streets, with no one able to retrieve them.
International Commission (Hashd): The Israeli occupation forces, using various types of weapons, continue to target the Beit Lahia Project and Jabalia Camp, as well as all shelters in Northern Gaza, where a series of massacres have been carried out through aerial, artillery bombardment, and gunfire from drones. This is part of an effort to displace and depopulate the north, with a blockade imposed on all roads leading to Jabalia Camp and the Beit Lahia Project, which currently accommodates most of the population of the northern governorate. Residents live in a state of ongoing fear, terror, and unprecedented disaster, where every attempt to escape or flee results in either death, arrest, or mistreatment at checkpoints set up by the occupation forces, particularly near the Indonesian Hospital, where dozens of displaced people have been arrested and mistreated.
International Commission (Hashd): The Commission calls on the international community, countries, and free people around the world to pressure the Israeli occupation to adhere to the rules of international humanitarian law, to open safe humanitarian corridors for evacuating the wounded and sick, to allow the entry of essential aid and supplies to the residents of Northern Gaza, and to ensure the cessation of massacres and acts of ethnic cleansing aimed at forcibly displacing residents from the north of the sector to the south.
End.
