The International Commission (Hashd) condemns the Israeli occupation authorities’ field killing of two young Palestinians in the West Bank and demands international protection for civilians.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) strongly condemns the death of two Palestinian youths by Israeli occupation forces this morning, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, during their invasion of the Aqabat Jabr camp, south of Jericho in the occupied West Bank. Omar Al-Walaji (16 years old) and several others were injured.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) Reiterates its condemnation of this heinous crime and expresses once more its condemnation of the escalation of field killings and physical liquidation, which are an integral part of the daily series of killings against Palestinian civilians committed by the occupation forces under Israeli political directives and instructions that allow occupation soldiers to shoot Palestinians with the intent to kill, Whereas the number of victims by Israeli occupation bullets has risen since the beginning of this year to (226), including (41) children and (6) women, and among the martyrs (38) inhabitants of the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip in the month of May.
While the majority of the martyrs were murdered and executed by occupation soldiers, settlers, security workers, and Israeli police officers who claimed they carried out or attempted stabbing assaults. Given that the worldwide silence on Israeli occupation crimes, as well as the continuance of double standards and selective enforcement of international law, these crimes would not have escalated or continued. As a result, The International Commission reports and demands the following:
- The International Commission “Hashd”: calls on the international community, the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention, and all international and regional organizations to condemn the killing of Palestinian civilians and to put pressure on the Israeli occupation state to stop its crimes and aggression against Palestinian citizens, as well as to work to provide international protection for Palestinian civilians.
- The International Commission “Hashd”: calls on the international community to activate mechanisms for holding Israeli occupation leaders and soldiers accountable for this crime through the International Criminal Court and using the principle of international jurisdiction, in order to restore victims’ trust in the international legal system and its effectiveness.
- The International Commission “Hashd”:calls for Palestinian diplomacy to increase their efforts to refer these situations to the International Criminal Court in order to take a step closer to opening and accelerating investigations into crimes committed by occupation forces, which would hold occupation leaders accountable and prevent their impunity.
- The International Commission “Hashd”: calls on the international community to take immediate action to declare a clear position on Israeli policies and systematic crimes, including support for accountability measures and prosecution of perpetrators of these crimes under international jurisdiction and before the International Criminal Court, as well as the imposition of sanctions against the Israeli occupation state.
