Press release

The International Commission (Hashd) condemns acts of internal violence in Palestinian territory and demands for the principles of law and civil peace to be respected.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) firmly rejects and condemns the crimes of internal violence in the Palestinian territories, the most recent of which were the murders of a law enforcement officer in the Gaza Strip’s Nuseirat camp, Khaled Musleh, and a citizen, Khalil al-Misbah, during a family fight in Jenin camp. On the 10th of June, 2023

According to current information, Khalil Al-Misbah (43) years, a freed prisoner, was murdered during a family fight in the Jenin camp in the West Bank, where Palestinian police announced the death of the citizen and the injuries of three others, during a fight in the Jenin camp.

It is worth noting that the aforementioned was recently freed after spending 20 years in Israeli-occupied prisons.

In the same vein, Iyad Al-Bozom, spokesman for the Gaza Ministry of Internal Affairs, announced that First Sergeant “Khaled Muhammad Musleh,” (27 years), a member of the police force, was killed yesterday morning, Saturday, June 10, 2023, as a result of a gunshot injury. Several arrest warrants were issued against the criminal in Nusseirat camp during the operation of an arrest mission against him for various offenses. The wanted criminal fired at the policeman with a pistol he had in his possession, injuring him and transferring him to a hospital in Deir al-Balah. He was officially declared dead hours afterward.

Because of the grave danger, they pose to the rule of law and the civil and to our community, the International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (Hashd) extends its condemnation of these crimes directed at the community as a whole, and therefore it calls on the Public Prosecution in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to open serious investigations into the circumstances of the two unfortunate incidents, and to take legal and repellent action against the perpetrators in the shortest time possible and in a way that preserves the rule of law.

The International Commission (Hashd) emphasizes the importance of abandoning clan violence and manifestations of law enforcement, as well as attacks on individuals responsible for law enforcement. Apart from being illegal, they endanger community peace and security.

As an important guarantee to reduce the recurrence of these crimes in the future, the International Commission (Hashd) calls for coordinated national and societal efforts to protect the rule of law and civil peace, including measures to prevent the spread of firearms and limit their use by law enforcement officials.
