Press Release,

After the Israeli forces stopped firing

The International Commission (ICSPR) calls upon the international community and its specialized organizations to work to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes against civilians and their civilian properties in the Gaza Strip.

The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR)  has followed with great condemnation the fierce aggression carried out by the Israeli occupation forces for more than two days, which resulted in the martyrdom of 34 citizens, including  8 children and 3 women, and the injury of 111 others, including 48 children and 20 women, in addition to the total and partial destruction of dozens of houses, buildings and civilian facilities.

Where the Israeli occupation forces deliberately targeted and killed Palestinian civilians in clod blood, the latest of these crimes was at Thursday dawn hours”14 November 2019″, killing six people from one family, namely: the child Mohammed Salem Al-Sawarka (07 years), the child Muhannad Rasmi Salem Al-Sawarka (12 years), the child Waseem Mohammed Salem Al-Sawarka (13 years), Maryam Salem Nasser Al-Sawarka (45 years), Rasmi Salem Odeh Al-Sawarka (45 years), and Yusri Mohammed ‘Ouda al-Sawarka (39 years old) due to a direct targeting of their house in Deir al-Balah.

Many crimes were committed prior to this one in the past two days, one of them caused the martyrdom of three Palestinian brothers: Ibrahim Ayman Fathi Abdel-Aal (17 years), Ismail Ayman Fathi Abdel-Aal (17 years), and their brother Ahmed Ayman Fathi Abdel-Aal (23 years) due to directly targeting a carpentry owned by their father. In another crime, Raafat Suleiman Mohammed Ayyad (54 years), his son Amir Raafat Suleiman Mohammed Ayyad (7 years), and his other son, Islam Raafat Suleiman Mohammed Ayyad (24 years) were killed, due to the direct targeting of a motorcycle the father was riding next to his house in the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City.

ICSPR reaffirms its condemnation of the Israeli occupation crimes that have left dozens of martyrs and injuries, deliberately terrorizing civilians, especially children and women, and stresses that Israeli crimes require the international community and its various organizations to work without delay on the accountability of the occupation forces for the systematic crimes and violations, which amount to war crimes, and believes that the work to build a Palestinian strategy based on the internationalization of the conflict and the restoration of national unity, must be a priority for the Palestinian society. Therefore, ICSPR demands the following:

  • ICSPR calls on the international community and its various organizations to activate the tools of international accountability for those who have committed or carried out war crimes and crimes against humanity as this is the most effective way to reduce the commission of other crimes in the future, and to guarantee the victims’ right to international legal and judicial remedies.
  • ICSPR calls for the need to expedite the provision of relief to the people of the Gaza Strip, especially those who lost their homes and fathers due to the Israeli bombing.
  • ICSPR calls on the president and the government to immediately stop the punitive measures against the Gaza Strip, and to work hard to restore national unity to ensure the implementation of presidential and legislative elections, while ensuring the freedom and integrity of the elections and respect for their results.
