Press release,

ICSPR: The Israeli military forces show once again the barbarity of the Israeli occupation against peaceful demonstrators in the Gaza Strip.

The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) condemns in the strongest possible terms, the commission of Israeli military occupation forces and its snipers deployed at the border fence of the Gaza Strip of crimes against Palestinian civilians, especially the peaceful demonstrators in a peaceful gathering in Malaka camp to commemorate the burning of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to the information of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the crimes of the Israeli occupation committed against peaceful demonstrators on August 21, 2021, resulted in the injury of 41 civilians, including 22 children and a photojournalist.

ICSPR expresses its deep condemnation of the deliberate and disproportionate Israeli military targeting of civilian demonstrators, and considers the Israeli violations against Palestinian demonstrators a war crime in accordance with Article 147 of the Fourth Geneva Convention and its First Additional Protocol of 1977, and warns the occupation state and its military forces against the policy of further targeting civilians and peaceful demonstrators, and holds it legally responsible for this. Therefore:

  • ICSPR affirms that the deliberate killing of peaceful demonstrators by the Israeli occupation forces constitutes a war crime in accordance with the Rome Statute that established the Permanent International Criminal Court.
  • ICSPR calls on the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, to fulfill their obligations contained in Article 1 of the Convention, according to which they pledge to respect and ensure respect for the Convention in all cases, as well as their obligations contained in Article 146 of the Convention to prosecute those accused of perpetrating Serious breaches of the agreement.
  • ICSPR renews its demand for the Palestinian leadership to activate diplomacy, including the importance of internationalizing the crimes of the occupation and activating all available spaces, which would expose, boycott and hold the Israeli war criminals accountable, in line with the idea of international justice.
