Urgent International Statement and Appeal to Stop War Crimes and Genocide in the Gaza Strip
600 Days of Genocide in Gaza Amid International Silence
Today, the International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) marks the 600th day of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip—one of the most horrific and prolonged acts of genocide in modern history—amid shameful international silence and a glaring humanitarian failure to stop the catastrophe. The aggression has not only involved the killing of innocent civilians but also the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, mosques, and refugee camps, creating an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
During this period, over 54,056 people have been killed or reported missing, with women and children making up around 70% of the total victims, including 12,400 women and 18,000 children. The number of wounded has surpassed 123,000, many of whom are now living with permanent disabilities. At least 11,200 people remain under the rubble, with rescue efforts hindered by a lack of equipment, fuel, and continued bombardment. Since the resumption of the aggression on March 18, 2025, nearly 4,000 civilians have been killed and more than 11,000 injured.
Israeli forces have carried out over 11,859 massacres against families, resulting in the complete annihilation of 2,172 families from the civil registry and the devastation of 5,070 other families, leaving only a single survivor in many cases. The death toll includes 360 medical staff, 113 civil defense personnel, 220 journalists, 736 police and humanitarian aid officers, 203 UNRWA employees, and 800 teachers and academics.
The aggression has destroyed more than 80% of Gaza’s infrastructure, including hospitals, power stations, water and communication networks, rendering the Strip uninhabitable. Gaza has entered a state of famine catastrophe, with 95% of agricultural land declared unusable according to FAO reports. As a result, livelihoods have collapsed. 1.9 million people face famine, and 57 children have died from hunger and dehydration. It is estimated that over 80% of the population suffers from severe food insecurity, and 71,000 children under five are at risk of acute malnutrition.
More than 68,918 housing units have been completely destroyed, while 330,500 units have been partially damaged. Israeli attacks have affected 89% of Gaza’s mosques (1,109 out of 1,244), 828 of which were completely destroyed, in addition to 3 churches and 40 cemeteries, 21 of which were fully demolished.
Palestinian prisoners have also suffered severe violations since the beginning of the aggression. 44 detainees from Gaza have died in Israeli prisons, part of 70 total detainee deaths. Currently, 1,846 detainees from Gaza are held as “unlawful combatants” without any legal guarantees.
Forced displacement continues with new evacuation orders affecting southern areas like Khan Yunis, Bani Suhaila, and Al-Qarara, as well as northern areas such as Beit Lahia and Jabalia. Over 300,000 civilians have recently been displaced, with tens of thousands crowding into Al-Mawasi coastal zone under catastrophic humanitarian and health conditions.
Israeli forces have targeted 241 shelter centers, mostly run by UNRWA, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of displaced people. The most recent was the bombing of Al-Jarjawi School in Al-Daraj neighborhood, which killed at least 30 civilians, mostly women and children.
The healthcare system is near total collapse. Over 32 hospitals and 165 health centers have been destroyed, and more than 80% of health facilities are out of service. A 90%+ shortage in medicines and supplies, along with fuel and power outages, threaten thousands of patients daily—especially children, cancer patients, and those with kidney failure.
For 80 consecutive days, Israel has continued its siege, preventing humanitarian aid from entering Gaza. Basic goods are scarce and prices have skyrocketed—flour now costs over 10 times its regular price. Food, if available, is sold on the black market. With only 15% of the daily required aid trucks entering Gaza (about 600 needed daily), relief efforts are failing. This has led to chaos and violence near aid distribution points, such as in Rafah, where 3 people were killed and 46 injured.
In the West Bank, since October 7, 2023, Israeli aggression has escalated, with 5,939 demolitions of homes and structures, the displacement of thousands, the confiscation of 52,000 dunums, the creation of 60 new settler outposts, and repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque in efforts to impose temporal and spatial division.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR), while condemning this genocide that has now entered its 600th day—amid U.S. support and disgraceful international silence—calls for:
-
An immediate and unconditional ceasefire, and full reopening of crossings to allow humanitarian and medical aid.
-
Referral of Israeli leaders to the International Criminal Court to be held accountable for war crimes.
-
Immediate action by the UN and international community to protect civilians and impose sanctions on the occupying state to deter further crimes.
-
A global call to action for all free people and human rights organizations to pressure for a halt to the atrocities and ensure international protection for civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.
