Israeli Occupation Escalates Aggression in the West Bank and Continues Genocidal Crimes and Starvation in Gaza
Date: June 13, 2025
Press Release
The Israeli occupation escalates its aggression in the West Bank and continues committing crimes of genocide and starvation in Gaza
The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights “ICSPR” expresses its deep concern and condemnation over the aggression and the serious and unprecedented escalation in crimes of genocide and killing of the starving, in conjunction with the continued obstruction of the entry of humanitarian aid, in addition to the escalation and other violations of the aggression in the West Bank and Jerusalem, where the occupation authorities, in a dangerous precedent, closed Al-Aqsa Mosque completely at dawn on Friday, prevented the holding of Friday prayers and forcibly evacuated its courtyards, under the pretext of “security conditions” resulting from the Israeli aggression against Iran, which is condemned and in violation of the UN Charter and the rules of international law, in preparation for imposing new Judaization facts and consolidating Israeli control over Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Commission monitored calls from officials and settler institutions to turn this closure into a permanent one, in a flagrant violation of freedom of worship and the sanctity of Islamic holy sites.
In parallel, the occupation forces imposed a comprehensive siege on the cities of the West Bank, including closing the entrances of cities and setting up military checkpoints, especially in Nablus, Hebron, Jericho, Qalqilya, Tulkarm, and Bethlehem, along with carrying out raids and mass arrests and imposing strict security measures, as well as directly targeting journalists and civilians with live ammunition at several points in the West Bank, which caused the martyrdom and injury of dozens of citizens during the past days.
As for the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces have continued to commit the crime of genocide and launched a series of airstrikes that led to the martyrdom of about 65 citizens in various areas of the Strip according to a preliminary toll, due to the shutdown of most of the Strip’s hospitals and the interruption of communications and the Internet throughout all areas of the Strip. The most prominent crimes were the brutal massacres committed against starving civilians in front of the American-Israeli humanitarian aid distribution centers in the Wadi Gaza Bridge area near the Netzarim military axis and other aid distribution centers in Rafah near the military points at the Mirage axis, where the American-Israeli aid distribution centers turned into death traps and humiliation for starving civilians. The latest of these crimes was this morning, when Israeli occupation forces opened fire on those waiting for aid in the vicinity of Netzarim near the American aid distribution point, leading to the martyrdom and killing of 15 martyrs and the injury of hundreds of wounded, making the scene of massacres, and the killing and injuring of dozens of civilians, a daily occurrence carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in cooperation with the American security company. The successive massacres have led to the killing of 200 martyrs and more than 1500 injuries, and the loss of 9 citizens since the operation of the aid distribution centers began on May 27, 2025. Citizens are forced under hunger and the absence of food in the Gaza Strip to head to these centers and pass through roads surrounded by barbed wire and near Israeli military areas to obtain what these centers offer in terms of meager aid amid a state of deliberate chaos, humiliation, and degrading treatment. This is a criminal use of hunger as a weapon and militarization of humanitarian aid and employment of the siege and closure of crossings to entrench the ban on the work of international humanitarian organizations, especially the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), and control the population and push them to forced displacement to reshape the demographic reality in the Strip.
On the other hand, the Israeli occupation forces continue to commit brutal massacres against civilians by bombing tents and houses and targeting civilians, in addition to continuing the destruction of residential neighborhoods in the governorates of Khan Yunis, Gaza, and the northern Strip, and forcing residents to forcibly displace. Meanwhile, the occupation forces continue to cut off communications and the Internet from the Gaza Strip for the third consecutive day, which isolates the Strip from communication with the world and hinders the ability of medical teams, paramedics, and journalists to work.
The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights “ICSPR”, while praising the General Assembly’s vote on the decision to ceasefire without conditions and condemning the use of starvation as a weapon against civilians and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid and activating accountability mechanisms against Israel and its leaders before international courts, calls for the General Assembly to play the role of the Security Council, which failed to stop the genocide and enforce aid and take practical measures to impose sanctions on the Israeli occupying state and expel it from the United Nations, and to send an international peacekeeping mission to protect civilians and ensure the opening of humanitarian corridors, and while indicating the seriousness of the continued silence and international failure and the absence of accountability, which entrenches the culture of impunity and constitutes a disgrace on the forehead of humanity and undermines the chances of peace and justice in the region and the world, and while holding the occupation authorities and their supporters, especially the United States of America, fully responsible for the continuation of genocide crimes, starvation, colonial settlement, Judaization, and other crimes and violations in the Palestinian territories, which exceed all United Nations resolutions and human rights standards and the rules of international humanitarian law and the measures of the International Court of Justice, the Commission accordingly records and demands the following:
-
The international community to work seriously for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip without conditions, and the entry of humanitarian aid safely and urgently, and to work to provide international protection for the Palestinian people and to stop the crimes and violations of the occupation.
-
The International Criminal Court to accelerate the investigation procedures regarding Israel’s crimes against Palestinian civilians and civilian properties and the brutal massacres committed against the starving in front of the American-Israeli aid distribution centers and to issue more arrest warrants against the Israeli officials responsible for committing these crimes and their partners.
-
The United Nations, UNESCO, and third-party states and the free people of the world to act to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites, including Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to activate boycott mechanisms and impose sanctions and stop all forms of military, political, and financial support to the Israeli occupation.
-
The international community, the United Nations, and third-party states to form a humanitarian international coalition to act in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations and the International Court of Justice to end the Israeli occupation and stop the genocide war and lift the comprehensive blockade on the Gaza Strip and rebuild, and to ensure the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, and to ensure the right of return and compensation for the refugees.
