Press Release
International Commission (Hashd): Warns of the Catastrophic Consequences of the Resumption of Israeli Occupation’s Aggression on Gaza, Ongoing for Five Days

The International Commission to Support the Rights of the Palestinian People “Hashd” expresses its deep concern regarding the ongoing Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip, which has entered its fifth day amid intense aerial bombardment, ground incursions, and the imposition of forced displacement policies under the cover of illegal evacuation orders. The occupation forces have carried out ground incursions in the western part of Beit Lahia and conducted raids in two locations in Rafah, simultaneously issuing evacuation orders in eastern Khan Younis and Beit Hanoun, forcing hundreds of thousands of families to flee once again amid widespread destruction and the complete lack of basic living conditions.

These Israeli war attacks have resulted in the martyrdom of 634 civilians, including more than 220 children and 120 women, and the injury of over 1,172 others with varying degrees of severity, according to medical sources. This raises the total number of victims of the Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7, 2023, to 49,747 martyrs and more than 113,213 injuries.

This comes amid the exacerbation of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, with the continued closure of the crossings and the prevention of humanitarian aid, worsening the suffering of over two million Palestinians living under siege. This has led to a near-total collapse of basic life infrastructure, as the continuous closure of the crossings for 21 days has caused most bakeries and charity food kitchens to stop functioning, severe shortages of food and medicines, and the cessation of basic humanitarian services amid continued Israeli bombing, destruction, rainy and cold weather, and forced displacement. Additionally, the severe shortage of food has led to indicators of acute famine. Moreover, the Israeli restrictions on fuel and electricity supplies have caused a near-total paralysis of essential services, including halting water desalination plants and municipal waste removal services, which threatens the spread of epidemics. The collapse of hospitals and the cessation of their operations due to the lack of medical staff, fuel, and medical supplies also endangers the lives of thousands of patients and wounded people, especially in intensive care units and neonatal wards, as well as the halting of ambulance and emergency services.

At the same time as the Israeli army is committing its crimes in Gaza, its aggression on Jenin and its refugee camp continues for the 61st consecutive day, through invasions, house demolitions, wide-scale arrests, and the issuance of demolition orders for 66 houses, which has led to the displacement of 3,200 homes. This has resulted in 34 martyrs and dozens of injuries. The aggression on the city of Tulkarem and its camp has continued for 55 days, and for the 42nd consecutive day on the Nour Shams refugee camp, resulting in the martyrdom of 13 people, including one child and two women, in addition to the forced displacement of more than 24,000 individuals.

The International Commission to Support the Rights of the Palestinian People (Hashd) emphasizes that the statements made by the Israeli Minister of Defense, which include threats to expand military operations and seize new areas in Gaza, are clear evidence of Israeli intentions to forcibly displace the population. It condemns the brutal Israeli aggression and the massacres against civilians. It affirms that these practices fall within the framework of a systematic policy aimed at destroying the infrastructure of life in Gaza and forcing Palestinians to leave their lands under the bombardment, starvation, and terror, which amounts to a completed genocide. It also considers the international silence and U.S. complicity, through continued political and military support for Israel, as giving the occupation a green light to continue its crimes, making the United States a direct partner in these violations. Therefore, it records and demands the following:

  1. The International Commission (Hashd) holds the international community accountable for its legal and moral responsibilities, and urges immediate action to stop the genocide and Israeli aggression, ensure the flow of humanitarian aid, and confront the policy of forced displacement against Palestinians.

  2. The International Commission (Hashd) calls on the international community to expedite the imposition of political, economic, and diplomatic sanctions on the Israeli occupying state, including halting arms exports and suspending bilateral agreements and military cooperation, to force it to stop its violations.

  3. The International Commission (Hashd) urges international judicial bodies to activate accountability mechanisms, including expediting the case of genocide before the International Court of Justice, issuing arrest warrants for Israeli officials involved in war crimes and genocide by the International Criminal Court, and activating legal actions by lawyers and human rights institutions using the principle of international jurisdiction.

  4. The International Commission (Hashd) calls on the member states of the Geneva Conventions to take all necessary measures to protect civilians, ensure the immediate lifting of the siege on Gaza unconditionally, open all crossings to guarantee the flow of humanitarian and medical aid, and allow the free movement of individuals and goods to rescue the population from the dangers of famine and displacement.

End,
The International Commission to Support the Rights of the Palestinian People (Hashd)
