“ICSPR”: Netanyahu’s and Smotrich’s Statements Reveal the Colonial “Greater Israel” Scheme and Require Urgent Palestinian Unity and an Arab–International Alliance to Stop Aggression and Protect the Peoples of the Region
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the racist and colonial statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the so-called “Greater Israel,” as well as the criminal statements of extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich about imposing full control over the West Bank, forcibly displacing Palestinians, and re-establishing settlements in the Gaza Strip.
ICSPR affirms that these statements cannot be considered individual positions or passing remarks; rather, they are repeated statements amounting to an official declaration of the implementation of a comprehensive, aggressive, Zionist settler-colonial project based on:
-
Re-occupying and destroying the Gaza Strip, forcibly displacing its residents, rendering the Strip an uninhabitable disaster area, reinstating settler-colonialism, and imposing military rule over the Strip, in direct continuation of the ongoing genocide for nearly two years.
-
Annexing the entire West Bank, Judaizing Jerusalem, isolating it from its Palestinian and Arab surroundings, erasing its cultural identity, expanding colonial settlement, seizing lands, and transforming what remains of Palestinian territory into isolated, besieged enclaves.
-
Systematic aggression against neighboring Arab states—foremost Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia—within the framework of imposing a new regional reality that serves the “Greater Israel” project.
ICSPR considers that this plan—U.S.-backed and benefiting from international inaction and silence—constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, the UN Charter and its resolutions, and amounts to the crime of aggression, genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity under international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. Its direct targeting of the peoples and states of the region makes it a threat to Arab national security and global peace.
ICSPR warns against relying solely on policies of condemnation and denunciation, which have proven ineffective in the face of escalating Israeli crimes, stressing that the current stage requires exceptional Palestinian, Arab, and international action based on:
-
Forming an active international humanitarian alliance that includes Arab and Islamic states and free international actors, adopting a clear plan to stop the genocide and aggression, protect the Palestinian people, and confront the declared Israeli plans to attack states in the region, thereby safeguarding Arab, regional, and international security.
-
Imposing comprehensive sanctions on Israel, including an arms embargo, severing political and economic relations, halting any support or funding to the Israeli military machine, and reviewing relations with the United States of America.
-
Activating mechanisms to prosecute Israeli leaders and their supporters before the International Criminal Court and in national courts, holding them accountable for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
-
Activating international protection mechanisms for the Palestinian people in accordance with the Geneva Conventions, by going to the UN General Assembly under the “Uniting for Peace” formula to establish an international monitoring and protection force in the occupied Palestinian territories to ensure the protection of civilians and civilian property, and to suspend Israel’s membership in the United Nations.
-
Calling on states, international organizations, and the free peoples of the Arab nation and the world to confront the law of the jungle and the Israeli–American schemes for hegemony over the Arab region and the Middle East, and its reshaping to serve Israeli and American interests without regard for international law, the UN Charter, or the security and interests of the states and peoples of the Arab region and the Middle East.
ICSPR stresses that thwarting the “Greater Israel” project requires Palestinian consensus and urgent national unity, Arab political will to implement the resolutions of Arab and Islamic summits and relevant UN resolutions, and broad global diplomatic and popular mobilization, in order to deny the Israeli occupation the opportunity to turn its colonial schemes into a reality that threatens the existence of the Palestinian people, Arab states, and the security and stability of the region and the entire world.
