ICSPR Issues an International Briefing Memorandum on Israeli Crimes Coinciding with Christmas and the End of the Year
The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR) issued a briefing memorandum to the international community and free people around the world, coinciding with Christmas and the end of the year. The memorandum documents the ongoing violations committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, and calls for urgent action to save civilians and hold those responsible accountable.
Key themes of the memorandum include:
Genocide and starvation crimes in Gaza:
A campaign of genocide since October 7, 2023, involving mass killings, systematic bombardment, widespread destruction, and the imposition of deadly living conditions.
The number of martyrs has exceeded 70,000, more than 70% of whom are women and children, while hundreds of thousands face famine and a total lack of food and water security.
The damaged health system:
More than 70% of hospitals have ceased operating, and at least 1,200 patients have died as a result of being denied treatment and medical evacuation.
Severe shortages of medicines and medical equipment threaten the lives of children, pregnant women, and patients.
Obstruction of humanitarian work:
The occupation restricts the entry of aid, leading to the suspension of relief services in 41% of areas, along with manipulation of the quantity and quality of essential supplies.
Economic conditions:
Gaza’s GDP has declined by 84%, unemployment has risen to 78%, and prices have increased by 22%.
Israeli restrictions and the destruction of economic infrastructure constitute a policy of collective punishment and economic annihilation.
Settlements and settler attacks:
The establishment of 19 settlements and 130 new outposts, the construction of more than 12,000 settlement units, the confiscation of 55,000 dunums of land, and the demolition of 3,679 structures.
Documentation of 4,200 settler attacks, including the burning of homes and vehicles and the destruction of thousands of olive trees, resulting in the killing and injury of hundreds and the displacement of thousands of Palestinians.
Jerusalem and holy sites:
The continued incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, home demolitions, the closure of schools, the targeting of UNRWA facilities, and the imposition of Judaization and demographic and cultural change.
Crimes in Israeli prisons:
More than 10,400 Palestinian prisoners, including 3,600 administrative detainees, 78 women prisoners, and 320 children, with the continued use of torture and denial of medical care.
Statements by Israeli officials:
Linking reconstruction to settlement and security projects and the establishment of new settlement units, reflecting an intention to continue crimes and policies of racist expansion.
The Commission’s demands:
An end to ceasefire violations and the opening of humanitarian crossings.
The protection of civilians and prisoners and holding Israeli leaders accountable before the International Criminal Court.
An immediate halt to settlement activity and the Judaization of Jerusalem, the provision of urgent support to save civilians, and ensuring accountability for those responsible for violations.
The Commission concluded its memorandum by emphasizing the necessity of strengthening popular, human rights, and legal international actions to support the right to self-determination, end occupation and colonialism, and protect the Palestinian people who are being subjected to a systematic crime of genocide, in defense of international justice, international law, and the values of peace.
