ICSPR Continues Implementing Group Guidance Activities to Promote Civil Peace and Protect Children
The first workshop, titled “Addressing Internal Phenomena and Crises and Ways to Reduce Them,” was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in Ard Shahin Camp – Al-Baraka Street – Deir al-Balah. It targeted 29 women from various community groups and was facilitated by youth activist Alaa Dawood, with the participation of ICSPR members Adham Al-Majdalawi and Lubna Al-Deeb.
The session discussed the most dangerous social phenomena that escalated during and after the aggression, such as field executions, domestic violence, family revenge, and the spread of armed groups, highlighting their threats to civil peace and the role of women and families in confronting them.
The participants concluded with several recommendations, including the need to intensify awareness campaigns on the importance of civil peace, implement psychosocial support sessions for women and children, and organize awareness workshops about the dangers of explosive remnants of war.
The second workshop was held on Wednesday, under the supervision of Adham Al-Majdalawi, a lawyer and legal researcher at ICSPR. It involved 20 children aged 6 to 12 years, focusing on “Activating and Protecting Children from Violence” through interactive activities designed to raise children’s awareness of their rights and methods of protection against different forms of violence.
Meanwhile, the third workshop, conducted by Lubna Al-Deeb, a lawyer and legal researcher at ICSPR, addressed the topic “Proper Social Upbringing and Its Role in Promoting Civil Peace Concepts.” The session targeted a group of children in the Central Governorate and emphasized the importance of family and educational environments in fostering values of tolerance, cooperation, and mutual respect among children.
These activities come within the framework of ICSPR’s Community Awareness and Education Program, which aims to enhance social cohesion, promote a culture of human rights and civil peace, and emphasize the active role of women and children in protecting the fabric of Palestinian society.
