ICSPR Implements an Awareness Session Supporting 21 Women in Northern Gaza Strip
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR), in partnership with the Italian campaign “100×100,” implemented an awareness session targeting 21 women in one of the displacement camps in Al-Saftawi area, in Northern Gaza Strip , as part of its programs aimed at supporting and empowering women both cognitively and psychologically amid the difficult humanitarian conditions.
This activity comes within ICSPR’s ongoing efforts to enhance health and social awareness among women, especially in vulnerable environments, by providing safe spaces for dialogue and learning, helping them better cope with daily challenges in displacement camps.
The session addressed several key topics affecting women’s lives, including personal hygiene concepts and disease prevention methods, in addition to providing guidance on personal protection, contributing to strengthening women’s health awareness under current conditions.
The session also included discussions on managing daily life necessities within the camps and ways to handle family responsibilities in displacement settings, helping women adapt to various challenges and achieve greater family stability.
A simplified interactive discussion on women’s rights under the law was also conducted, covering personal status issues, while emphasizing women’s right to live with dignity and safety within society, and the importance of protecting both women and their families.
The session witnessed a positive and engaging atmosphere, with participants showing strong interest in the topics discussed, which contributed to boosting their self-confidence and alleviating some of the psychological stress they face due to displacement.
ICSPR affirmed that these activities represent an important intervention in supporting women in affected areas, stressing the importance of continuing awareness and empowerment programs that enhance women’s resilience, improve their quality of life, and help them cope with escalating humanitarian challenges.
