ICSPR Continues Implementing Psychosocial Support Activities and Awareness Sessions on the Dangers of War Remnants in Shelter Centers
The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) continues its humanitarian efforts aimed at protecting children and strengthening the resilience of displaced families through a series of psychosocial support activities and awareness sessions on the dangers of war remnants, as part of its emergency programs serving residents of shelter centers.
In this context, the Commission carried out today four field activities in displacement camps, where children, women, and youth live under harsh conditions marked by heightened fear and insecurity. Despite the difficult reality and the worn-out tents bearing the scars of war, the team succeeded in creating supportive spaces that promote psychosocial guidance, raise awareness of the dangers of war remnants, and emphasize the importance of civil peace.
The activities were supervised by a specialized team from the shelter center and ICSPR volunteers, including:
-
Dr. Khalil Ali Abu Jarad – Psychological and Educational Specialist (Capital Shelter Center)
-
Ms. Lubna Dawood – Human Rights and Humanitarian Activist (ICSPR)
-
Mr. Adham Al-Majdalawi – Human Rights and Humanitarian Activist (ICSPR)
-
Ms. Shireen Omar Naeem – Psychological Specialist (Capital Shelter Center)
The activities contributed to enhancing awareness of how to cope with psychological pressures, providing an environment that helps alleviate the psychological trauma experienced by the displaced, and raising awareness of the dangers of war remnants and ways to promote civil peace.
Families and participants emphasized the urgent need to expand psychosocial support programs within shelter centers, considering them a humanitarian necessity no less important than the provision of food and medicine. Each activity of this kind represents an important step toward protecting Gaza’s children and women from the long-term psychological effects caused by the war.
ICSPR hopes to see expanded humanitarian action, stronger local efforts, and broader supportive partnerships to ensure greater protection for civilians, women, children, and displaced people in the Gaza Strip.
