ICSPR Conducts Psychosocial Support Activity for 40 Children as Part of Its Ongoing Series of Initiatives in Gaza

The International Commission for Supporting Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) carried out a psychosocial and recreational activity targeting 40 children in a camp in the Gaza Strip, as part of its humanitarian programs aimed at supporting children living under extremely difficult psychological and social conditions due to the ongoing circumstances in the region.

This activity is part of ICSPR’s vision to promote children’s mental health and community protection, especially given the constant pressures and traumatic experiences that directly affect their behavior, sense of security, and emotional stability. The field teams of ICSPR sought to provide a safe and child-friendly environment that allows children to play, interact, and express themselves freely, away from fear and tension.

The program included a variety of recreational activities and interactive group games, alongside psychological exercises and emotional release sessions led by specialists. These activities aimed to help children express their feelings, cope with anxiety, build self-confidence, and foster teamwork and cooperation. The sessions also focused on developing positive communication skills and restoring joy and reassurance to the children’s lives.

ICSPR emphasized that such activities are a crucial and urgent intervention under the current circumstances, noting that children in Gaza need continuous safe spaces for emotional support that help them release stress and reclaim aspects of their childhood stolen by successive crises.

The organizers highlighted that interventions of this nature are essential amid the ongoing deterioration of humanitarian conditions, as children require regular psychosocial support to regain balance and mitigate the long-term effects of trauma. They also affirmed that ICSPR will continue implementing psychosocial and social support programs across various areas of the Gaza Strip to reach as many children as possible.
