ICSPR Condemns the Attack on the ‘Al-Dameer’ Ship and Calls for an International Investigation and Urgent Action to Save Gaza
The International Commission to Support Palestinians’ Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the new international crime committed by Israel through a drone attack targeting the Al-Dameer ship, part of the Freedom Flotilla, in international waters near the coast of Malta. The ship was attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, who have been subjected to genocide, siege, and starvation for more than a year and a half.
ICSPR affirms that the Israeli occupation has systematically prevented the Freedom Flotilla ships from reaching Gaza since the beginning of its aggression and genocidal war. This has been done by exerting pressure on various countries to block the ships from departing their ports, as well as by threatening activists with death and arrest, and by seizing and destroying the ships.
ICSPR calls on the Maltese government and the international community to launch a serious and independent international investigation into the attack on the Freedom Flotilla ship, to uncover those responsible and hold them accountable.
ICSPR also urges the international community to take immediate action to open the crossings and humanitarian corridors to ensure the flow of aid, fuel, and medical supplies in order to prevent famine, humanitarian collapse, and to save the people of Gaza.
